Dude. Dude. Dude. This should be... like 10 videos. For a bunch of reasons... 1. The YT algorythm rewards continuous content, and continuous views. Making a series gives you both, this cannot be over emphasised in value. 2. Kind of hard to digest and navigate for the viewer. Some people enjoy the monolith format, I'm sure, but YT isn't designed for that. 3. More importantly: people looking for help with a certain aspect of the game who're searching for help can see what they're looking for and click on your video. 4. It's easier on you to create multiple episodes rather than a BBC special. 5. It lets you whore out your branding more... 6. Later additions, changes, etc. are much easier if you have the episode format. It also lets you expand on content much more easily if you decide you've got an idea later on. TL;DR: Episode format is the best thing since spliced bread. Bonus: at the end of a series, you can create this as compilation, possibly with retrospective. Don't forget to make a playlist. That's free content, without working. Edit: 1:00: 'I hope to make this about a 15 to twenty minute video' Oh god, that killed me, I didn't watch this yet...! Yeah. Exactly what I'm talking about. Dude. Episode format. It'll keep you on track in terms of content length. Instead of a 2/3 part series, you could have done a 4/6 part series, and I'm willing to be you left out some things that you wanted to include, but didn't because you realised the project had ballooned out of control, right?

@Malus15315 жыл бұрын
@@duukn My first Total War as well, and Warhammer 2 has quickly become my most played game on Steam. Tons of fun, tons of content. @X Phantom I've pretty much stuck to Vortex. I figure I'm still playing through the Warhammer 2 races, why bother with Mortal Empires? Vortex map is big enough, I don't usually travel to all the places anyway, so why do I need more? Why have longer turn times? I can see the appeal of not dealing with the Vortex victory conditions though, the standard vortex race and stack spawns get old. But I've been playing DLC races like Tomb Kings and Vampire Coast and they don't really participate in the vortex race, they have their own conditions.
@sjonnieplayfull58595 жыл бұрын
@@duukn first 40 turns: see if you can win with less units (saving money on upkeep), maybe by using lords and heroes in the frontline a bit more. Especialy in the first turns a lord can demolish an army on its own. Even more so with a hero or single monster with it. Cheesy thing to do: charge your lord into the enemy and when all the enemy units gather around him, unleash a big AoE spell right on top of him. He gets hit once, the enemy gets hit 300 times. Then charge in your monster and let your lord run to a place less crowded. Repeat a few times. Profit. Just be sure your lord is tanky enough for this, and have units near to help if it gets serious. Later on you can't do this, but the first battles against 5 units are doable. Have your army set up in a defensive position so anyone who ignores your lord gets stomped on. Under assault? Locate your army next to a city. When the enemy attacks, you controll your garison as well, and if they put you under siege, your garrison helps breaking out. When possible, let your garrison do the dirty work and take most losses. They replenish over time while they stay in the city, and they will not go anywhere anyway. Better then your own army suffering and needing 5 immobile turns to be ready again. Do not end a battle when the enemy runs. Instead let your mages heal as much characters and single monsters as you can. Free health... Try to be faster. Im in turn 15 now (normal/normal) and i took two settlements in the second provincie allready. Not done it myself, but people suggest putting one lord to sea and have him explore all wrecks for gold and Magic items. Just skip the skull islands, they are defended by a large army. Anything else could yield up to 10k gold. Ima try myself next turn.

Might add attacking settlements and supporting armies to this. There are some tactics and caveats to doing it that can be advantageous. IE first off, having a supporting army helps reduce casualties and when you win, you can sack and loot the settlement first, and then occupy with the 2nd army in the same turn thus capturing the settlement and getting a nice cash infusion. To do so you need to have that second army moved in while the first sieges it, and have enough movement left to attack when the battle is done and your first army abandons it.

Thanks so much for this guide! I've been playing this game on and off for awhile now but never really got in to it as I never new how to really play it but this guide has given me so much information! I've really got in to this game and plan on playing it a lot for the foreseeable future and this has kick started that! Thanks again, from England! A quick question: What's your favourite race and why? :)

Thanks for the guide. Loving the game so far but it’s a little overwhelming as the only RTS I’ve ever played was battle for middle earth 2 lol.

Game went on sale. Buddy desperate for someone to play it with him bought it for me. I took one look at the screen to pick your leader and knew I was gonna need a PHD for this.

Thanks for this video! I always end up teaching myself bad habits when I go into games blind.

Is there a way to make the UI larger in this game? or any UI mods perhaps? there's so much going on and it's so small it makes my eyes hurt. Small text and icons tend to give me migraines, and I'm worried this game will strain me too much.

Go to video options, I believe there is a slider for UI Scale :)

Ive wanted to try these games for a long time. Finally booted up this one. Obviously, wtf! So much to learn. Ive already tried playing it with just the games hints/tips and I’ve already given up and said fuck this game. I really enjoy the battles and want to try again. I watched most of this video before my play and I remembered mostly everything in this video. So im hoping there is more videos to help me out.
