From my short experience with Nobunaga's Ambition at least, it might have the opposite effect. Instead of playing and winning the game I instead focus on getting the cutscenes, which is more of a chore than I'd personally like in the long run.

This was really helpful, as a warhammer 40k fanboy i've not tapped into much of the fantasy lore, but always loved the TW Warhammer games. Also, the difference between CA's art and "true" Warhammer art is still the same core concept.. The best Warhammer art, looks like historical paintings of a very old age. I love that.

There's no way to make a game like this without the possibility of alternate endings (i.e. No End Times). I hope this is something embraced by GW. Although I don't think the End Times were real anyway, I think both AoS and 40k are pocket universes created in line with the Old One's great plan, the Slann and the Great Elf mages. I like the idea that our own world is just something created by mages in the Warhammer world (which is the ultimate reality).

I sincerely hope that the Eastern half of the map gets more fleshed out. We need us some kingdoms of Ind, snake-men of Kadesh, samurai of Nippon, steppe cavalry of the Hobgobla Khan, and more Cathay. A lot more Cathay. At the campaign level, Cathay should have a confederation mechanic similar to the Empire to represent its conflicting tendencies towards regionalism and unity. As the Romance of the Three Kingdoms said, “The empire, long united, must divide; the empire, long divided, must unite.” At the battlefield level, Cathay’s army is solid, but there’s a huge potential for specialization. For a start, there’s Zhanmadao (think single-edged greatswords), horse archers (yes, China had those too), stone guardian lions, and phoenixes/warbirds. The Sky Lantern lore already hints at the Vermillion Warbird, so I sincerely hope we see those in the open soon.

This was a fantastic video to watch. I kind of would have liked if you had done Khorne, Tzeentch, Nurgle, Slaanesh, and Undivided separately (as they technically are separate factions despite all falling under the same umbrella of "Chaos") I am grateful that CA is bringing back the mixture of beasts, daemons, and mortals for each faction as it was in the glory days of TT Chaos (Hordes of Chaos was hands down the best and most popular iteration). But that being said, this was still an amazing watch. Thanks!

Some of it isn't necessarily the best quality but overall it's up their with any of the classic DnD settings in terms of world building. As another has said, you’ll need all 3 games (DLC and installation NOT required) to play IE. Weird corporate decision, but it is what it is. It’ll be worth it tho. You can get them when they’re on sale so as to not spend a fortune, and considering it will be a beta, you may not miss much if you need to wait a while.

It feels like the Old races of WH1 and 2 need reworks to survive in Empire mode. The Empire and Dwarfs are usually smashed and destroyed. The Empire by being literally surrounded by enemies on all sides and the Dwarfs from doom stacks of 40unit Orks and scaven.
