You should also include Seti Astro's suite in your workflow, believe me some of his scripts are a game changer

Great video, also timely...! I am learning SHO processing. Its also monsoon season, clouds, dust storms and its around 100F at midnight. This video gave me something to do today. I agree about you trying the SetiAstro tools.

Absolutely loving these tutorials. You have definitely changed my perception from Pixinsight being a scary monster to a rather approachable little puppy 🐶🤣 . Appreciate the efforts and attention to detail in explaining every little aspect. Looking forward to many more. Also if you could show some alternatives to the paid process such as GradXT or StarXT - would be very much helpful. Clear Skies 🌃🌠

Hey Luke great job as always one question, the HT Unlinked Stretch is it the same as STF stretch from linear to no linear? , or it is something different ? also does it matter if I do the HT stretch before combining image or after? it is confusing little thank you - I noticed if I do this stretch before combining SHO, I get better colors than not using it, so confused, about it, what it really does, the Bill website doesnt say anything about it
@lukomaticoКүн бұрын
Hey mate! - I believe Bill's HT stretch tools are a little gentler than STF, giving you some more wiggle room after using it to finalise things. - RE: stretching before combining, I think that's the right way to do it, combine nonlinear data :-) Cheers!

Luke, I think the one thing I have learnt from your Pixinsight videos is to experiment. Play with tool settings and mix up the order of processing.

Hey! Perfect timing for my new 2600mm! I have SHO data and IR (L) data. Do I need to integrate the IR? If so, how?
@lukomatico2 ай бұрын
Hey Steve! Unless there's significant data in the IR I wouldn't bother integrating it with the SHO 👍 sorry about the late reply!

How big is your computer screen? Do you think GraXpert will not remove nebulosity with gradient? How does it distinguish gradient from nebulosity? DBE definitely mess around with nebulosity. I usually do several attempts and sometimes give up.
@lukomatico2 ай бұрын
Hey Ana! - I use a 43" oled screen, re: graXpert removing nebulosity, it probably does remove some, I've just never found something that totally leaves everything that should be there alone 👍

Why not to use RGB stars. Take 30-45 min to collect data. Those SHO stars will never be real, even if SPCC is applied.
@AnomalousAstro2 ай бұрын
Try Seti Astro's NB to RGB Star Combination. You may never need to shoot RGB just for stars again.
