slight correction, you can press f when the white flash towards the tip of your opponents weapon and that'll parry. If you parry at the start for slower heavy weapons, you'll miss your parry and get comboed up. especially important when 17 max levels flood on your power 1 freshie.

Just a quick tip for players. Do to how parrying and blocking is set up, you will ALWAYS parry before you block, even if you hold the button. For some reason certain weapons can block without partying however it will still put your parry on cooldown. This is quite annoying but you will get used to it.

That’s actually due to the parry cooldown being seperate from blocking the cooldown it used to be 0.5 now it has been drastically increased to 1.5 this change was made so offensive players would be more rewarded while playing passive will give you a disadvantage

Deepwoken is not a turn based game. Hits don't cancel each other out anymore, both hits will land and you'll both take damage, as long as they land at the same time.

One small tip i can give, is change some of ur keybinds, like 8 9 0 or 7, if its difficult for ur fingers to reach, or change or feint button to something like e, now do note that you needa be careful that you dont change ur keybind to anything important so you dont accidentaly click z or y and hit one of 100 other dudes who are not in a good mood, and give you that jjk treatment

you could've also mentioned the different attunement's specialties, which i will list below : - gale : its useful for keeping pressure on the opponent by closing gaps but its a duelist attunement, meaning it works best when used in a 1v1. - lightning : similar to gale in it being a duelist attunement but it focuses more on stun and cancelling the opponent's moves - flamecharm : jack of all trades since it can sustain itself by regening health (phoenix impact, phoenix flames etc) and its excellent for situations where you're being ganked by 3 level 20s - frostdraw : this one is meant for crowd control since most of its moves are AOE or area denial, it also hard counters regeneration by stealing it with a talent called "saint jay" - shadowcast : this one is basically the same as frost except it doesnt have the regen and replaces it with more crowd control and hard damaging moves, it serves for extending fights since it'll drain the ether of the opponent even though after all i mentioned, you can still use gale for fighting multiple people, its just that for example frost or shadow would do better in those situations

Don't worry about builds right now because they won't save you from a voidwalker or a boss fight lol. Just practice man. Spar people as much as possible if PVP is what you're trying to get good at

Me and a few friends have been really trying to get into this game. We’ve been playing a few weeks and players have been horribly toxic it kinda ruins the experience when super strong players come out of no where and constantly bully and kill us… it’s toxic and has been ruining the game since we can’t even do anything about it. The get gud response is useless and really just makes it impossible for new people to get into this.

It's possible I promise you got this! The game is supposed to feel unfair but it rewards you for getting better. Don't be afraid to wipe and never stop practicing! It's a pvp game so that will never be avoided. I always recommend dedicating a solid few hours a week of sparring with a friend

What is fainting for

Feinting is for baiting out the enemies parry. When you block/Parry you get a short cool down before you do it again. So in theory if you feint your attack the enemy may try to react and block/Parry it which puts them on cooldown and should allow you to get a hit in.
