Firstly this guy is an absolute baller, dragging his Mrs round the golf store and on to the cigar shop. Secondly this is exactly why I didn’t want to get fitted a few months back when I was brand new to golf as what’s the point when you can’t hit the ball. No chance coach Mike can actually fit you for your swing when you don’t have one but fair play to the lad for having the confidence to go do it, I would have been too embarrassed at that stage. Wish we had these PGA superstores in the UK.

Some advice to you new golfers out there: get some used clubs from a used sports equipment store, or craigslist, or facebook market place, or just google "used golf clubs" and there are tons of websites that will hook you up for CHEAP! Same thing goes with a golf bag and golf balls. BUY USED. Now that you have a set of gear, go out and spend money on lessons. See if you can get a discount lesson package of 4 or 5 lessons. Go to the course and play a few rounds. Play with people you meet at the course. Play with friends. But the biggest thing is DO NOT SPEND HUNDREDS OR EVEN THOUSANDS OF $$'s ON NICE NEW CLUBS WHEN YOU ARE NEW TO THE GAME. Play with second-hand gear until you get the hang of it. After a season or two of experience, and some lessons, if you truly want to commit to the game, then go to the PGA Store and get Coach Mike here to hook you up with custom fitted clubs.

Thank goodness a video keeping it real! Every carpenter prefers a certain hammer! I’ve seen people hit 80’s with Walmart equipment and 100s with people swinging 2,000 dollars plus! An athlete will adjust and perfect his craft no matter the tool. All technology is the same you pay for the name these days ! Golf is a billion dollar business because there is no exact ,and variables in business create endless monetary marketing! Do you on that coarse, your only enemy on that round consist between your left and right ear!

It's best for beginners to get a beginner set from a generic big box store. I got a 14pc set for $100 a few years back. Been learning the game and taking weekly lessons. Now that my swing mechanics are becoming more consistent, my trainer finally agreed to give me a fitting. Never get fitted if you never golfed before or have yet to get training beforehand. It's wasting your money IMO

I check out play again sports until I swung consistently enough to spend dough. When the swing is everywhere the fitting doesn't tell you anything. Also you go from 0 to ok pretty fast. No need to get fitted at 0. After a few rounds and a lesson you will get to ok. This is where I think people should be fitted. I really enjoyed this video.

Buy a cheap box set or just a set of used irons from callaway/titelist/ect. It will take 10 to 20 thousand swings to ensure just the irons go mainly straight. There is no reason to get fitted for clubs until you can make that ball go generally straight, high when you want it, and low when you want it.

Hey man totally forgot to tell you that I went and got fitted for a new set of clubs. It was great. It wasn’t anything to great but better than what I was playing with. I now have a set of cobra F Max’s and they are so much fun to play with. Anyways just if you wanted an update. There ya go once again just rewatched the video still great man. Keep up the great work! Had Technical difficulties at one of my business, that caused me not to finish filming the instore experience. As many times as you said "going to get fitted for som` golf clubs....", "get fitted for some golf clubs...." , "get fitted for some golf clubs....." honestly never heard someone say something so many times in one video in such a short amount. Of time. But i will say you are definitely more confident then me. I golfed for a couple of months with a full set of discontinued calaway clubs my father bought me for Christ,as, then I left them at his house when I visited him because that’s the only time I go played was with him. But then after a while I didn’t go up to his house for a long time then he started using mine and then it just became his. Oh well. I was just getting the hang out my swing but I’ve gotta start all over from ground zero. Unlike bowling, I was bowling for 11 years before I quit but then just got back into it and just like riding a bike
