Oh my goodness, this is one of the few times I've looked on the internet for a "beginner's guide" to something and actually found a guide that a beginner can understand. I find that so many so called "beginner's" guides are just creators trying to flex their knowledge and cram as much confusing jargon into their videos as they can, and it just goes over people's heads. I've been playing FFXIV for over 3 years and just picked up Dancer for the first time and this video explained everything perfectly with simple terms and great visuals - thank you!

That is genuinely the best & smoothest guide I've found for any FF14 job so far, damn! The only one I enjoyed until now was the job overview from Siffus, just because it's so lovingly direct / honest and explains concepts nicely. But this one is SO well paced, combines everything from jokes & visuals & keybinds into one cool story. Thanks so much! ... would love to see an Astro guide, too. c:

They are all easy to learn and the EASIEST dps Job is actually MCH because doing high damage with that Job is very simple. Also, DNC is capable of buffing/minor healing and keeping up with the damage and most of all, it pairs well with BRD and MNK.

I think SMN is easier, DNC actually has ordering concerns in its burst window to prevent overcapping. Of course, saying SMN is easier is not really saying much.

I consider it misleading to call dancer a support class. The dance partner boost is like a few percent. This is nice, but most of the damage that a dancer contributes is of course by pressing their own buttons. In fact, there are no support classes in FFXIV. All the jobs are basically the same with a few % removed from this aspect but added to that aspect etc

That's HORRIBLY incorrect, the best option atm is Viper>SAM>Picto. When looking up dps, do NOT look at rDPS those are the numbers AFTER they calculate how much additional damage you helped to contribute to the raid, not before. That damage is higher, the better the raw dps the Class can pump out. Right now, Viper and SAM have the highest raw because they don't buff anyone else. Picto is overtuned so that might not last that long and BLM is usually the first caster. However, more important than any of these is: ALWAYS BUFF THE DPS THAT CAN STAY ALIVE!!! Regardless though, don't feel bad about giving picto the dance partner, just make sure you pick a high dps class at least. Unless you're in a dungeon, then just pick the other dps.

@@Akantorz Picto's burst is actually so high that it's better then Viper at least what it says due to the balance. Also in dungeons yeah pick the dps unless the DPS is bad then maybe the tank will get more of a benefit lol

@@Daniel-gh9fv The burst only seems that high due to damage increase from the buff that Picto has, Viper has a very close burst that almost matches that damage, but then you also have the buffs that happen at different intervals other than 2 minutes that viper can take advantage of that Picto cannot. Furthermore, picto burst will be highest at the start, but less later on, where as Viper burst is actually WEAKER at the start than at the next 2 minute, similar to Reaper. Therefore, the start might be better, but for the longevity of a fight, Viper will win out in the end, as well as SAM for similar reasons. Regardless, any of those three is the best option and nobody will feel bad if you pick one or the other, as long as they don't put it on the Summoner or the Ninja they will be fine.
