Sir I have never played a table top RPG. I want to start with Alien. And I would also like to DM. I am also a HUGE Alien fan. A lorehound if you will. How easy is this game to pick up and play for a person with zero table top RPG experience?

I would say it's really accessible. If you love Alien you'll love the book so take your time and study it. My advice would be to watch some of the numerous and excellent online sessions on youtube to get a feel of the game first before you try to lead as a GM. There will be a bit of a learning curve but if it's a universe you love you'll enjoy that curve. The nexr thing would be to get some mates around you who are up for it and learn together with the starting one shot in the book - Hadley's Hope. It's an awesome session and it really leads you through what to do but the key is preparation, preparation, preparation. Having said that part of the pleasure of GMing is the players will do something you didn't think of and have no rules for but always, ALWAYS go with rule of cool - if it's cool, role a dice and let them work out a way to do it. That's my advice. Other thing is join the Alien rpg facebook group there are loads of great GMs on there who'll offer amazing advice.
