Literally the easiest way to build this I don't know how people find out these methods to build rafts but they are pure geniuss 👌

Lots of trial and error haha. I played for a long time building and im not even a tenth as good as the ark builders out there. I honestly don't know what I'm doing until I do it heh. I've encountered so many problems with ark's building mechanics you figure out a way to make it work. 😅

That is a clever trick to put ceiling extensions, then foundations, and removing the ceiling pieces. I just made a small barge. Fancy, and I didn't think blueprints would go in the bookshelf, interesting. Subbed.

@@Fynixmech If I can get a working computer at my son's apt, I will be posting more episodes of the videos for new players. He has a fast Internet connection, were as I don't. It can take four, or more hours to load up a 30 min video at the house, but only about 15 minutes at the apt. All I did was put ceiling pieces down on the raft until I could park 6 Dinos on it and a few large storage boxes that look like cabinets.

@@wastedwatts Yeah I know the struggle. My connection i think is pretty good and it takes a few hours to upload each one of these episodes. Yeah it's definitely a game changer when you can transport alot of dinos.

Thanks so much! I've been trying to figure out how to do a build series. I'm not sure how I want to record it since alot of people enjoy this build. I want to make it easy to follow, but everyone learns differently.

Me with my square 3x5. I like to use the back 3x2 for my base, with the front 3x3 open for tames. The base is 2 floors, with the 2nd floor having slop roofs for easy access to the top. The front is walled off, with a dino gate on the left and right. This is good for most medium-sized tames. With plenty of space inside for 4xstorage, forge, smithy, campfire, and a mortar and pestle, and a feeding troph in the front center. Depending on how many building items I have left, I normally like to use standing torches to help see at night and some rails. I saw it on a youtube video and has been way better than ANY of the rafts I've built myself. This video was amazing man, you're so creative! I love it :D It's so crazy a game about surviving amongst dinos turned into a game about who can build the best boat? XD Back when the build cap on these things were CRAZY high! Mobile bases are so much fun to build.

Thanks so much! Yeah I got really into boat building at first since my friend and I played pvp. It was easier at the time to stay mobile to get what we wanted and to transport things if necessary. We could fly on the server we were on and we were stubborn about it haha. I'm no where near as good as some of the builders on here, but I like having fun making stuff different. Especially when you can afford to. That kind of stuff doesn't fly on official lol stone boxes all around. Sounds like you had a pretty good base going on! Yeah I started messing with a mosasaur build that could be pretty fun, but the limits are traaaaash. So I haven't been able to make anything I actually like.

Great build. Tried replicating on the switch version but can not. The snaps for the ceiling to foundation was not working sadly.

Thanks! It usually only works with thatch ceilings. Sometimes you have to snap a square foundation then replace it with a triangle.

Like attach? Sometimes you have to use thatch ceilings or you can replace square foundations you were already able to place.

Pretty much how it's shown in the video. You have to make sure that you up the structure limit on platforms on your server, but a shorter version of this should be possible on official settings.

Ok, I don’t know how to up the structure limit because I’m on Xbox. (Sorry this response is late. I don’t look at my notifications that much.)

@@ThatSurvivorPony No worries! When you start up your game and you host your single player it'll be in the advance settings on the left of the screen. There will be a couple setting pertaining to structure limits. You have to increase the multiplier. Now I don't know the exact number since PC doesn't have limits, but I played on Playstation which has similar settings to XBOX. I usually would just increase it as high as it could possibly go. Consoles still have limits on building, but at least it will increase the default limit. This build isn't a huge build so it should still be doable on console. If you are playing on official, this won't work. It'll work on a private server if whoever hosts it has these settings.

Are you able to recreate this with stone? Does stone take up more space?

There shouldn't be any problems substituting the same type of structure with the stone version. However this boat wasn't built on official rates. I have another video doing a smaller similar build that can be done on official settings.

There might actually be too many structures on the raft. On official settings or official servers this build isn't possible. If on private or personal you'll have to adjust the structure limit in the settings before start up. You can set it to something ridiculous high so you won't hit the limit. If you are building on official settings I made another video on how to do a smaller similar build that was based off this one. It should be in my ark building playlist.

Ahh sorry! I was trying not to make the video too long. If you copy the floor foundation shapes and just make them ceilings instead you should be good. I've had a few people interested in this build so I might make a more in depth tutorial or just upload the raw footage :)

Can this withstand hits from the whales that attack rafts?

No nothing can as of right now. They made the whale to destroy boats. If you have a motorboat you can outrun them but that's about it. Honey will also distract them.

Were you playing on a private server or official? Sometimes you have to tweak the settings if it's on single player. They do constantly make updates though and could have possibly changed. :/

I tried to build on to the raft with a ceiling but then the foundation immediately breaks whenever it's built under the ceiling. Why

Sometime that happens depending on the angle you come at it. Sometimes you're putting it in the same place as another foundation. You can tell this if you get materials back. Usually if this keeps happening to me, I'll break a couple of pieces on purpose and build them over again starting with the piece you were trying to lay down. If that makes sense. That usually works.

Yes it does. That's normally how you extend foundations. This build wasn't built with mods...you should be able to adjust your platform settings in single player. If playing on official though you won't be able to build this one. I have another ship building tutorial that is a smaller version of this one that is vanilla friendly 😁

Why does the base have to be flush with the raft?

So you're able to reach the drive stick. You can't ride the raft if that space is blocked with a foundation. You could also leave that space blank if you wished. I also think it looks nicer when its flush. 👍

Sometimes there's a structure limit on the server. Depends on what you're playing on. If with the limit off, there are still limits to how far the boat can extend.

@@Lumbricas No problem! I try to get to these as soon as I see them. If all the server settings are good then you have to make sure it's a square ceiling for the triangle foundation. Sometimes it's tricky and you have to move around a bit or cycle through the snap points.

Hmm, Ark always funny with it's building. Sometimes if you toggle the snap points it'll work. Also, it depends on the order you place things down as well. Sometimes it needs to be completely open in order to put things down. You also have to make sure that there's no limit on your structures.

As of right now, no, due to them nerfing how far you can extend the platform. You could build a smaller version of it though. Maybe 2 wide or take the back 2 off and live on the deck more or less.

On official yes its 88 structures....on a server you or someone you know have control if the settings you can override or bump it up. There's limits on console although you can push it up pretty high...this ship can be built with settings like that. On pc the limits are higher. It's really hard to max it out, but I'm sure if you try hard enough you can do it haha.
