Hi brent thanks for sharing this. I’m new here in Hornby Christchurch and I’m just about to choose among my choices😊. I’m just a kilometer distance at snap and anytime gyms but I bet for cityfitness though it’s a bit far from my place.

I have used many different gyms over the years, the worst by far that I have used is snap fitness. I found their equipment ot be poorly maintained with equipment out of action for months at a time. Because I could not do the training I needed to do I fell behind in my fitness goals. I had paid for a year in advance so lost a few months membership. On that basis I would not recommend Snap Fitness to anyone. I went from Snap to Les Mills, and yes it does cost more but you do get more for you money. For example even when busy I do not find myself waiting to get the dumbell that I want because there are so many sets. Any issue with equipment is addressed quickly not like at Snap where it takes forever. Another good thing is that no equipment is taken from the gym floor for classes, this used to also be a point of frustration at Snap Fitness and a lot of other gyms for me.

Thanks for sharing! I had a great time at Les Mills too, everything was immaculate including the classes (The Ride was always fun), equipment, and service. Its expensive but you get your moneys worth I feel! They need one in West Auckland so I can join again :D

les mills need to rebuild the weights section at victoria park and lower their fees since some members dont want to do classes
