Check out local clubs. I know mine offers free prep classes and testing. One of the best choices I ever made was getting my license. Great people. Nice job on the video!

Thanks Luke , and I agree ... I've never regretted getting my license . In fact , recently I've been relearning CW . I haven't used it in awhile , so I got rusty ... and I'm preparing to finally make the final upgrade to Extra

A Ham license is my next goal to make the time for. I have the book and watched several study videos on it last year. Since we talked last, I am now World Radio on CB and very happy about it.

Jacques , I'm actually studying to bump my license up from General Class , to Extra Class . Just remember that if you take to long , the information you studied is going to change , so the question pool will change . Which makes everything you studied for , pointless . But they change the information and the question pool every 4 years .

I've been to HRO in DFW. What a place! Trying to figure which HF antenna I can connect to a chimney and not need a ground plane...

I agree ... I've been a ham for 18 years ... and I've been a General for 15 of those years . I've always enjoyed being a ham ... and now I'm preparing to do the final upgrade to Extra Class ... and I'm relearning CW as well since it's been so long since I've last used it . I'm a little rusty , but I've been a drummer for 40 years ... so I pick it up fast .

I agree , but there are far too many places to buy equipment , to try and list them all . So I tried to keep it short , and simple ... and just listed a couple of the more common places people can go to . Maybe one day I'll make a video that's just about places you can buy equipment ... then I can list more .

So I’m a complete noob when it comes to ham radios. Ive recently looked into it for entertainment purpose and to be a better prepper. I bought two baofengs and have been playing around but I really don’t even know the basics. I switch antennas back and forth and just scan channels to see what I can hear. Not transmit as I know that much. I need a complete ham radio for morons video breaking it down to what is a ham radio. This is what you can do. This is what you need to buy. My pockets burn up when I have cash in it so I’m all about going “ham” when buying equipment. See what I did there. Lol. I’m already making ham jokes. Lol. Please help.
