I zero in on vintage jewelry at the local thrifts, so this information you have shared is priceless. I feel like I went to a classroom course watching your video. I think it's time for me to invest in costume jewelry books and guides and start learning this stuff. Thank you!

Very informative video, I have been collecting jewelry for over 10 years and just recently I was forced to start Selling some of it. I would usually buy from estate sales or auctions and never thought about looking for marks and all of that stuff . Watching your videos has brought some light as to what I have and how to price things. Thank you very much .

Thank you, Lady Vintage, for these two instructional videos! I sit here at 5 AM, getting ready to go do what I always do on Saturday morning, go rummage through OPJ (other people's junk), learning so much from these vids. I come across jewelry ALL OF THE TIME, but never knew what I was looking at. There are two women who show up constantly at the same locations I am at, always buying jewelry. Maybe with your help, I can cut in on some of their profits for myself!

Owls started becoming popular again because of Harry Potter and then they took off on their own. If I have items that are missing stones, I can usually find a stone to match and replace it with one of many jewelry glues. Cute little Calypso pin/brooch. I have several little weirdities that Daddy sent Mama from the South Pacific during WWII. Very touristy! Mama had some of those enamel floral brooches too.
@Crossword1315 жыл бұрын
I would love to know more about how/what to do when we get something that is missing a few or a lot of stones (if it's a really good/rare piece and worth the effort.) Also, what you can do to verify the maker of an unsigned piece (for example I have a pair of stunning, OLD Juliana chandelier earrings--but no mark.) Also, if you can explain more about how to make the smart picks, what tell-tale signs to get excited about, countries of origin--which are good/bad, also red flags to avoid at all costs...etc. Thanks so much for your help and time doing this. You have a wealth of knowledge and a calming voice.

great finding you. I've got a large amount of jewelry I've been selling in my fb group for a couple years. I'm very happy to have found your channel because I just registered for my ebay store and I'm very nervous about it. your tips are great and I've already learned a lot. I have a set of those crown pins and the gems and pearls fall out easily. I was going to repair one of them with pieces from the other. I run a fb group called Vintage Jewelry Lost &Found. it was originally meant for pieces which are defected in some way. but now I have people buying and selling all kinds of vintage jewelry, assemblage pieces and art made with vintage jewelry. like those framed christmas tree. please check us out.

Hi, to do the research on that, check Ebay, also check websites that sell vintage jewelry.Google both Judy Lee Forget me not, then try just vintage jewelry. When using Google also try clicking on the Google images tab.

Google Dr. Lori antique appraisals, she does them for around 60 usd online.
@TSunshineful4 жыл бұрын
J Giltner my opinion of dr Lori is : she knows her stuff, charges way too much for an appraisal, and she also rates the value much higher than the market you will be able to sell it in, if at all. Personally I don’t care for her sense of humor, and she rambles on and on. Take my opinion with a grain of salt though. I have been in the antique business over 30 years as a buyer and seller. I’ve managed six antique malls, so I do have a little experience.

Told my mom so hard! Animals sell! I found this pretty brownish gem type of butterfly necklace. My mom wouldn't buy it cause she thought it was ugly. She's helping me start up my eBay store, but that also means dealing with her shit when she doesn't agree with me making me lose potential money. Instead she was like look at this necklace its better. Mom. Its flimsy. Cheap as shit. And stained on the back. I'd be lucky to get $5 out of it.

You seem to have a respectable amount of knowledge about the subject of vintage jewelry. As a long time collector and online dealer, my question would be why on earth you are still selling in EBay?? EBay is a great place to buy but a terrible place to sell. You might as well give your jewels away. I would suggest you move on over to a reputable forum like Ruby Lane. Just saying....
