So.. all those secret recipes, hard to find ingredients, methods, techniques and you do the bloom with just water, floetrol and paint? That was honestly the most informative video I've watched in the last 3 years. Thank you very, VERY much. Your bloom looked exactly like all the others that use the plethora of wood conditioners, varnishes, waxes, etc. All with exactly what I have here at home already. I'm stunned. And happy!!!!

Thank you so much for all the information you've given in this video. You are THE BEST instructor ever! I've watched and listened to dozens of videos on acrylic pouring and while a lot of the instructors were good, none were as informative as you are. You not only go slowly and tell us how to do this but you also tell us WHY we need to do this and I appreciate that so much. Beginner's Mind is something that a lot of teachers forget about once they've learned a technique but you seem to have kept us beginners in mind and because you've made this so much more understandable I now finally feel like I can begin doing this. I've already bought all the supplies (except for the torch) but I've been putting off starting to pour because I hadn't felt comfortable enough before I discovered your video. Now I can truly say I feel much more comfortable doing this so thank you again!

It took me several months to figure out that this new "recipe" that I had found was for a totally different technique! Your teaching skills are amazing! I am now ready to start "finishing" the 200+ projects so I can hopefully sell some of them! I love watching your videos! Keep up the great work Tammy!

Hello Tammy, just wanted to say a huge thank you for this amazing video, I've just started doing acrylic pours and have wasted 3 or 4 canvases now because no other video gives you such a detailed information. So thank you so very much! I now know where I've been going wrong. There is so much rubbish out there about acrylic pouring, some say glue, some say not as it makes the paint crack (and I can say categorically it does!), some say water, some not and Silicone, well don't get me on Silicone! I've been adding Silicone but having done an awful lot of research and also now seeing your amazing video, I now know it's the Floetrol and water that creates the cells, not silicone! I've typed up my notes with a picture of your beautiful delicate flower to give me confidence. I now know it was the heat gun cracking my paint when dry in addition to using glue, so from now on only Floetrol & water to mix the paint! I now have a small torch coming tomorrow. You've given me such hope that I can finally get an acrylic pour right! Wish I was in Connecticut but sadly I'm in St. Albans, UK, otherwise I'd be there having lessons from you! Thanks a million Heather

Hi Tammy, thank you so much for your inspiring and indepth videos. BUT, I'm in the uk and the price of floetrol is madness. A small bottle is about £80 from google. with import costs etc. However owetrol is readily available at a good price in England and wondered what your thoughts are on this product or indeed as floetrol is so expensive can you suggest your next best recipe that does not include flotrol even as a CA ?. I look forward to more videos from you.

@@TrinaRaysTrekofLife hii! Yes I did. But it came out so weird and it started cracking once it dried up 🤔 and it was hard to move it around. Maybe because I was using a heat gun? This is so beautiful. Wow. I appreciate some of what you explained. I never realized the heat gun starts to bake the paint. That's all I've used so far to pop bubbles. It didn't seem to do anything to the paint as far as I could tell, but maybe it really did! I'm def going to get a torch! I also didn't realize the Floetrol extended the drying time. I have to admit I've been quite perplexed as to why the dry time is so long as I used to paint with acrylics (in a more conventional type of painting kind of way) and the layers with that would be dry in 10 or 15 minutes or so. I did realize the paint layer with the pours was a bit thicker than when painting in thin layers with a brush, but it still hadn't made sense to me that it was taking 24 hours or even a bit more with the pours. I'm so glad to know that about the Floetrol now. The outcome of this painting here is really amazing!!
@shirleymancino68094 жыл бұрын
Acrylic paint does not dry as quickly as you think unless it is super thin.....what happens with most acrylic applications (not just thick applications like poured paint) is that the surface dries first but the under layers remain wet and continue to off gas for a while. If you try to go in and modify something too soon, the acrylic paint lift in clumps and you may ruin your piece.

Your paint might have been in the thin side if it blew past you 😉. Also, it takes a couple of times to get the hang of holding the dryer. Ive been pouring for a year and every once in a while, I’ll get a bit wild with the dryer. You will have failures. I promise this but please don’t give up. The ONLY way you will learn is to push past the failures and learn from them. They will teach you. Remember, you own the paint. It doesn’t own you. Make it work for you. If you don’t like it, swipe the paint off and start over.
