I downsized my braid to 20# jbraid grand this year and I have been loving it for bobber dogging. just barely thick enough to hold onto the bobber stops well but mends and casts like a dream compared to the 40# braid I have used in the past. Just found your channel and been loving it man!

Bought some spinners cant wait to use them at the coast next weekend. However, with the bead float setup for example, you have a half oz float would you match it with a half oz weight since the beads are lighter? Thank you man!

Thanks for sharing your setups, I'm always wondering what kind you are using when I'm watching. I'm starting my own channel and was wondering what kind of cameras and accessories you use. It looks like you are using three cams sometimes in the field. I'm going to at least get a GoPro to go with my phone cam.

Got these thinking they were the slightly larger Panfish floats kzbin.infoUgkx_rJB7cli5f1ofPVGgn80S7Yj4vqwq0gU they work just fine. The smaller size lets me carry more in my tackle box, and the 3 color choices are nice for different lighting conditions, backgrounds, etc. They aren't the most durable things in the world. But, as cheap as they are, it's not heartbreaking to lose one or have to replace a worn one. The price on these fluctuates wildly, from about $9 to almost $16. So, time your buy accordingly.

Good video and thank you. I still have confusion over the Oregon regulations concerning a 3-ft leader. The leader you have looks like it's more like maybe 5 ft. I'm talking about the fluorocarbon tied to the swivel that has the weight. So my question has to do with what is the definition of 3 ft leader. Where does the measurement of the 3 ft start from? Also as a former fly fishermen I used to fish for steelhead and I would have liters of 8 to 10 ft with a green butt skunk or some other fly tied on the end. Can you please clarify the Oregon regulations relative to leader? I've looked at many things and the more I look at the more confusing it is. Thank you
@AnglingAddictsPNW
@AnglingAddictsPNW 5 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! Sorry for any confusion. I’m sure it doesn’t help when I say 3ft but am using a longer leader for the demonstration. Oregon Regulations are 18”-36” for leader length. Leader length is the distance from your hook to the first swivel, which is where your weight is attached on this setup. When I fish beads, I am typically on that shorter side closer to 18 inches, that way the bead stays closer to the bottom where the fish are. Fly fishing is totally different, there are no weights or swivels and you’re tied directly to your mainline. So the typical fly fishing setup is totally legit. I hope that helps.

Good video. But What weight bobber do you use usually? and the weight to match it?
@brianjohnston4207
@brianjohnston4207 2 ай бұрын
As a general rule you should match the weight to the weight of your float. I don't count the bead since it doesn't really weigh anything. But your float should be vertical while fishing. Sometimes Depending on the water or if I'm using jigs then I might use a weight that doesn't match my float but I always want the weight of my gear to match my float and this causes less resistance for the fish to pull it under.

It really depends on the flow and clarity. I’ve gone down to 24” in dirty water conditions and up to 4-5ft in super clear and low conditions. Most cases it’s about 36” ish
