How do I stop my left hand mallet from winding up tightly to stop spinning? The right hand is fine but I always have trouble with the left. Help.

Your strings might be too tight. Remember that your hands are different sizes. Very minute, but still different. Check how they are tied and mark them for R vs L hands. Start there and let me know how it goes.

new at this and need an answer how to stop the strings from twisting. help, please. love the videos!

Donna Hues I'm not the OP but string twisting comes from hands that are too tight or strings that don't fit just right. Make sure that when your strings are on and your hands are flat (palm to palm) together in front of you that your mallets make 45 degree angles on the backs of your hands.
