Holy Jesu! Is this just not beautiful? I love these twirling drummers in pipe group but hate that they aren't shown front and center! Am so happy to come across this video!

I'm a Scot from Montrose; Sara is the best tenor drummer I've seen. Great flair, well done lass!

I was a rhythm tenor when I first started in my grade 5 7 years ago. Love seeing individual tenor solo's... I am a snare now! Hopefully will be able to do a live solo here soon!

Your drumsticks are like butterflies flittin’, frollickin’, and lightly kissing the drumhead. Beautiful!

I want to be like you when I grow up, and I’m 64. I started learning tenor drum 4 weeks ago.

Not what many people in the drumline community think of when they hear "tenor drum". My high school drumline uses pipe band tenor drums.

I know this comment was 4 years ago, but he was playing Kron "Heritage" drones made by Dave Atherton and a poly McCallum chanter. He actually started making pipes a few years back. His company is "Morrill Bagpipes".

Our Scottish Ancestors would laugh at todays snares. The lads here are no doubt talented but why are snares so tight, hollow and dry now? Respectfully, it sounds like a woodblock with a single nylon string on the bottom. The Pipes are suppose to be the Grace and the drums the battery of Scottish Heritage. Tenor solo is Impeccable. Pipe Full and Robust. Snare well played but distracting.

Technical competition, not musicality. However, I do think pipe bands make the high tension snares sound pretty good. The snare on the top head restores the “snary” sound that is completely lost in regular modern marching bands.

I'll never understand a musical instrument that makes no audible sounds.........

We'll admit the video capture device we used that season was not very good at getting any sound from the tenor and bass drums, but we're still pretty impressed with Sara's performance!
