Farmers don't have time to listen to 100 words when 3 can make the point and get the info across. Perhaps YOU don't need rice but more and more folks are becoming gluten intolerant so we DO need rice and we need some upland varieties from far north japan and China that will grow in the northern tier of states. U of Michigan should be a leader in this. there are some Japanese folks growing rice in Vermont.
