God, you're an awesome teacher, Gerald. I saw the review of your CD in Issue #27 Uke PLayer PDF, and then I went to your website, and now these lessons, which are right at my level. Buying your CDs now. And you're in MI--I'm in IL. Thank you for taking the time. I'm getting this closed chord stuff thanks to you.

The chord shapes are exactly the same on a baritone uke but the names of the chords are a fifth higher. For example the C bar shape in the video is a G on the baritone - same left hand shape.

Thanks XOsuperior. The ending of the song uses partially closed chords. The F chord I play is a plain vanilla F chord (2010). Then a F#7 (341x avoid playing the 1st string). Then a G7 (453x avoid playing the 1st string). End on a bar C.

Hey Gerald! I really appreciate this videoseries, and you are doing a great job of teaching something hard so it becomes more easy to understand. I have one question though. You mentioned how to end the song, but i don't think you thaught us how to play those chords with "closed strings". Do you mind explain that to us? Thanks in advance

When you're playing the E7 and D7 with your fingertips, which finger is on which string? I've paused the video and can't figure it out. I've experimented and whatever I've tried just doesn't look the same. Thanks for posting these swing ukulele tutorials, fantastic! More please.

Thanks for the video. It helps a lot. I have a question though. I'm using my middle finger and my ring finger to double-bar the G9 and A9 chords. Will that hinder any future chord learning for swing ukulele, or will it work fine in the future?
@gbross10 жыл бұрын
Your fingering should work fine Butch. Everyone has different sized and shaped hands and fingers. If that works for you and easily get in and out of the chord then you should be fine. If it sounds like music, you are doing it right.
