This tutorial will show you the tools and notions needed to begin thread sketching. How to set up your fabric and machine for success using 12 weight Perle Cotton.

One thing I've done is search "continuous line art" - it's all one line with minimal overlap, so it's pretty ideal to adapt.

hello very nice lady the green light on the front of the sewing machine is that the start stop button to operate the sewing machine without using the sewing machine electric foot pedal?😊

I was curious too so I found the manual for this Bernina 970 and looked at the buttons. That top one lit green (at 7:19 min) is called "start/stop" and it determines what position the needle is when you stop sewing. It has multiple functions depending on what you're doing, so not just needle position. Most machines (even cheap beginner ones) have this needle position feature.

TJ…. Excellent video! Quick question…I haven’t used 35 wt thread in the bobbin before, do you only use it with 12 wt perle cotton? (I usually use a 90 wt when I machine embroider) Can’t wait to try this technique on my Bernina!🤗

I find that a thicker bobbin thread works best with 12 wt perle cotton like 30, 35, 40. I have tried a 50 wt in the bobbin, and it did not play well with the Perle Cotton. Hope that helps, Tj
