That cutout still bothers me though, even if you had the trail riding batteries, but were riding on-road. The real problem is that there wasn't enough time from the moment you got the warning to correct before cutout. That's just dangerous. I know that people give InMotion crap for artificially limiting their speed, but I'll take safety over speed any day.

That's what I was thinking as well. I think the cutout beeps should come earlier, or an optional tiltback feature could be installed as well. I'm still looking more at the Patton as my next wheel.

@@ionflow1073 Yeah I don't know why Begode hasn't adopted the tilt back feature. It's quite often that you can't hear a beep, especially if you have a motorcycle helmet on, and you're on a busy road.

I have a old begode monster v3 and it tilts perfectly. I can ride on the tilt all day. I still recon Choochs wheel is set up wrong. I still wonder what the default settings were on the extreme, my bet is the tiltback or pwm is probably not set right, it must be wrong else it wouldnt have cut out before tilting back. Im convinced its noting to do with battery size. Other wheels with flat batteries still tilt back and dont cut out.

@@BruceWayne15325 My Sherman Max tilts back very noticeably when the batteries are low. With that, it seems like the risk of not realizing this and a cutout resulting would be low.

@HeadRoaster they're capping the adventure/ v14 at 43mph.. extreme can easily exceed 50+mph when ridden sensibly within its limits and not over powering/ torquing it when close to its limits kzbin.infoqwCE1AB9gzs?si=yvGCfmw4cYXyzUv8 that said if you're into street riding mostly you're better off getting a 20" wheel or larger with 6p batteries or more to be able to sustain top speeds.. don't get any of these 16" wheels which are primarily designed for excelling offroad and more designed with optimal torque and agility in mind and less about sustaining the highest top speeds.. get an ex30 for street riding or both street and offroad.. most versatile wheel you can get with both optimal torque and 6p batteries that can sustain higher speeds more easily with less battery sag or the master pro which is the ultimate street only wheel at 8p, largest diameter wheel that can sustain the highest top speeds on street the longest but lacks torque and not ideal offroad

If the high performance cells have a faster recover the explanation of chooch saying that he cutout because it was the 40t version were wrong? I mean, for me seems like the 40t batteries should be less susceptible of battery sag and due to this have less chance of cutting out like that, I'm right?

Yes but I think pushing the wheel at 48-50mph, with 50% battery is what did it. You can really only push wheels until 75-80% battery.

Batteries are chemical devices. Anytime you are drawing power, you are creating a chemical imbalance in that battery that takes a finite amount of time to equalize. This why you can stop for lunch, get on the wheel, accelerate hard and feel the power. However, if you are climbing a mountain, the chemistry says you cannot do the same thing. The high performance cells have a much faster recovery time and lower cell resistance, so they perform better. With smaller capacity and a big motor, the performance margins are much tighter than something like the Nikola+ with 2000w motor and 2700 wh battery. That is a 6p battery pack instead of a 4p, so each cell only sees 2/3 as much load as a 4p pack. The 6p version is top heavy and doesn't have suspension. Its just not a nimble machine. Will it make it to the top of the mountain? Definitely, but the jack rabbit will get there quicker. This takes us to the type of trail. If you have ups and downs, twists and turns but not a mountain to climb, then you have typical trail riding and the Extreme is your ride. If the ups and downs are more than a mile, probably not. Terrain makes a difference.

Hey Chooch, Firstly, I want to say how much I appreciate your insights and advice on EUCs. Your "WHAT ELECTRIC UNICYCLE DO I BUY!?" video from 8 months ago was incredibly helpful! Given the recent deals and new releases in the EUC industry, it's become a bit challenging to decide on the best purchase. Since a lot of us value and trust your opinion, it would be fantastic if you could make an updated video on the subject, especially with the ongoing sales. Thank you for your time and keep up the great work!

I don't know squat about these but hearing you talk, it would be cool if they could make a smaller emergency backup battery pack you can carry in a backpack and connect somewhere to it if you run out of battery deep in a trail like you were talking about. Maybe it would take a big performance hit but get you back or partially back if you are ten miles into a trail and it dies.

Patton build quality, durability, top speed, stability and suspension is inferior and with extreme firmware updates the all round torque is similar/ more than enough..patton over priced comparatively..as per Ronin's video with objective live data the extreme is still capable of more than 50mph when ridden sensibly.. but none of these 16" wheel 4p battery wheels can sustain those high top speeds for long but that isn't what they're designed for.. they are primarily designed for optimal riding offroad and the extreme excels there

@skylinesquid it won't if you ride it the way it's meant to be ridden for its intended use case which is offroad and not sustained high speed street riding (which larger wheeled eucs are better suited to) and set the warning alarms correctly in the app but it can still reach more than 50mph if ridden sensibly within its limits and don't over torque it when already moving at high speed kzbin.infoqwCE1AB9gzs?si=kko4Q3VV9px7mh5y

Where is your video review? The shock is a begode provided shock there is also a 500lb in the box but the air shock is most liked supposedly due to the variability. The shock bolt is now promised by Begode to be replaced with 20% stronger one so that’s admission (legally) of wrong doing. He definitely has wrong information on the weight unless there is more to it such as different casing or such. As for the curious cutout everyone seems to act like they are judge and jury. He obviously was upset about the cutout and is allowed to be excused for any effected behavior after falling at whatever speed. I feel he won’t be the only one to make a mistake trusting a wheel and we may see more cutouts with other riders.

Yeah, that seems unsafe af. I'll be going with the Kingsong S18. That cutoff was insane. No thanks.
@justinspirational
@justinspirational Жыл бұрын
Lol.. you'll cutout and over torque way sooner on the s18 which has way less power.. cheaper/ smaller/ lower powered wheels are the last safe wheels with less headroom . It's also been proven that chooch was riding in excess of 40mph at low battery when he cut out.. this is normal.. the s18 would have cut out at a way slower speed
@HaloWolf102
@HaloWolf102 Жыл бұрын
@@justinspirational If I were to assume you're more knowledgeable than me for Wheels. May I ask what Wheel has a decreasing maximum speed as the battery gets lower in charge. Prevention is a better safety mechanism than warning the rider.
@justinspirational
@justinspirational Жыл бұрын
@HaloWolf102 what do you mean? That applies to ALL brands and models of wheels.. the lower the battery voltage of any wheel the lower the top speed it can achieve before cutting out proportionately.. but the s18 has a lower margin (certainly than the extreme) to start with.. at 100% battery the extreme will cutout at a higher speed than the s18 will at 100% as it has greater headroom due to being more powerful.. more power equals safer (or at least more buffer/ headroom before cutting out/ over torquing) in general.. there is no brand or model of wheel that is immune to cutting out but having a greater headroom certainly reduces that possibility and can therefore ride with more peace of mind with the most powerful wheel as you're less likely to reach that higher limit
@HaloWolf102
@HaloWolf102 Жыл бұрын
@@justinspirational You misunderstood my question. Because there is no cap for any wheel (that I know of). Instead there is a warning, and a failure. There is no preventative measure in the software to cap the speed and prevent you from going faster until you are kissing the blacktop.
@user-lj4xq4hm3k
@user-lj4xq4hm3k Жыл бұрын
There are warnings on all wheels. But there's no effective way that a single wheel can prevent the rider from ignoring the warning and trying to go faster. The safest wheels are and always will be the most powerful ones. Eventually they'll get so fast and powerful that air resistance will prevent you from being able to lean further. Looks like for most people that may mean a maximum speed in the 60-70mph range. But just because the thing can go that fast doesn't mean most people will ever do it. Just like the vast majority of people never try to see how fast their car can go.
