I really like this wheel. I have it for two months. I've ridden about 1600 km and climbed over 30km in total. Longest distance I could get on one charge was 113km and 2850m of elevation gain. That involved mostly offroad all-mountain riding
@Dave-cf4vd4 ай бұрын
Let's talk about your suspension adjustments: typically we set our spring for about 1/3 droop or sag. Why do we devote twice as much stroke to the compression part as we do to the rebound? Because fighting gravity is hard! We need to use that extra travel to slow down all that energy from a drop. We also put a lot of damping on that compression stroke to dissipate all that kinetic energy. Once the wheel is compressed we'd like the wheel to return to neutral as quickly as possible, without acting like a pogo-stick and launching us in the air (although, some might like that). So we tend to put a little bit of damping on the rebound stroke, but not too much. If you set the shock to have zero damping on the compression, and a ton of damping on the rebound/return - then the suspension will pack down over successive bumps.

I really like mine. I have a batch 1 (serial no is under 20!) and haven't had any significant issues. It took me a long time (too long) to settle on a dedicated trail wheel, and I know that trying trails on my heavier wheels (EX20) did little to help me learn these skills. I'm glad I finally bought the Extreme. I'm definitely towards the more apprehensive end of the scale when it comes to learning new skills and trying new tricks (jumps, big obstacles / downed trees / drops etc.) but this wheel does inspire confidence, and will help you push your limits a bit. I've always struggled with going down really steep stuff - I have way more confidence climbing than descending, largely because I'm a light rider (~135lb) and have generally ridden heavy wheels that just don't want to slow down on steep descents. The Extreme changed all that - I did some fairly steep new trails last weekend and love how the wheel just responds instantly to what I want it to. There's such massive torque, which most people equate to climbing and acceleration, but the same torque gives you a massive breaking control on descents as well. Riding this wheel, I know that I am the weak link, and that I can trust the wheel do behave the way I want it to. Seeing some of the crazy stuff these guys are doing on 'my' wheel also helps a lot. I still love my Master Pro for long road cruising, but this wheel excels at everything else.

Hi Mr Wrong Way, nice review. I've been thinking for some time now that it would be really nice and useful if you made a video teaching specifically how to fall on EUCs, like the best way to avoid injuries when you crash, the best position to keep when you ride to be fully prepared, and so on.. I know there is some general knowledge about this coming from motorcycle riders, but it would be nice if someone skilled and experienced like you shared some tricks that are specific and unique to EUC riding... I'm not sure if you already made something about this topic in the past, it's just a thought :)

Nice to see the full review. The Extreme seems like a future classic candidate, it'd be great if Begode would continue to provide parts / support for this wheel for a long time, as they really nailed it with this one. Even though in the euc space things go forward quickly, I feel like having a reliable and proven model is what will help widespread adoption in the long run. That said, do you have your eyes on the Extreme Bull Griffon? Supposedly, it'll feature a smart BMS, which is unfortunately still not a given with all the new releases ;)

You probably won't have time to answer a questions like this, but based on your input in other videos and explanations about build quality and Smart BMS, I've narrowed my next wheel choice to be between the Begode Extreme and the Inmotion V14. The Extreme upgraded to the 50S batteries and the heavier suspension makes it about the same price as a V14, so cost between the two isn't an issue. My biggest concern is maintenance and waterproofing. Have you (or anyone else in the comments) ridden the Extreme in the rain much to know how water resistant it is? As for the V14, with it's more "Begodish" design, is it easier to work on than other Inmotion wheels? I'm leaning towards the V14 for the waterproofing piece of mind, but the Extreme's better suspension travel is also tempting in it's own way.
@Austin98213 ай бұрын
The Extreme is damn near water proof so if that's your deciding factor I would go extreme. The v14 is nice as well but I personally just don't like Inmotion

@@NikivitaGet a quick charger and the 50s battery packs and you can charge up to 20 Amps. That’s much lighter than carrying excessive battery weight, depending upon your needs. The 50S batteries appear to be a worthwhile upgrade, since it doesn’t work on the v14GB variant.
