BEGODE RS19 SPEED VS TORQUE Electric Unicycle Test: What is the difference?

Comparing the BEGODE RS19 TORQUE VS SPEED
There is a misconception in the electric unicycle community that the Begode RS19 Speed has far inferior torque to the Begode RS19 Torque due to the naming. We compare the two to see if this holds true.

Have you had the chance to try both variation of the Begode RS19 torque and speed? If so which do you prefer and why?
@RamSees13
@RamSees13 3 жыл бұрын
ive not had the chance to try both, but i got my RS19HT/RST (high torque) thinking about hill climbing ability. ive only had my euc for a month now, but if the speed can conquer hills, then i would love to have the addition topspeed. i got it solely for the sake of climbing a steep and spiraling hill that i climb everyday on my commute. so its not a hill that i can enter at a high speed and let a "lower torque" motor using momentum, get me up. of course i had no experience when i ordered the euc, and so i just went with the safer option with my dilemma.... ...so if the speed version can also conquer hills (what percentage/grade of hill could be included in the specs perhaps) without any momentum, or overheating of the electronics, purely on its own torque characteristics, then i would definitely opt for the speed as well. without question.

I believe there is more a difference when you require more from the EUCs. A straight line may not be enough to show the difference between torque and "top end". I chose the MSP over the MSX after considering the type of terrain I mostly cover, which is very hilly. The difference in battery consumption probably occurs when you try riding the Torque version at a cruise speed made more for the speed version. The trade offs are this: The speed version offers a faster cruise speed and of course, a faster overall speed. The torque version offers a feeling of power that gives confidence to the rider especially in hilly/off-road conditions.

torque motor just have more power, acordingly battery usage is bigger. As we know, power is used from motor as much as it requires only, but.. were not computers and cant maintain stable speed at all, so torque wheels have always bigger power spike usage, so battery is drawed faster

@@AfeezKayeRIDES did you ever do this test? I have my order in for the high torque (but can change to the HS before shipping if I want) as I plan on riding 60-70% off road/technical trails and hills (& I'm 6'3 tall and 200 pounds/just over 13 stones but still wonder if the high speed will be more than enough torque still for hill climbing and not have to sacrifice the higher top speed of the hs but don't want it overheating which I know the HS is more prone to than the HT and I'm in southern California so it can get hot out here, especially climbing steep off-road terrain.. can you feel the acceleration forces of the high torque are higher and more powerful feeling than the high speed even if the timings were similar? Wouldn't the acceleration of the high torque been greater if you had power pads on it too like you did on the high speed? Thanks for your reply!

You got your VIDEO ALL WRONG. I don't believe you are a dirt trail rider also or else you would of known the sole purpose of each one. These are 2 different beast: RSS = lower hangers/pedals for stability at higher speeds on flat surfaces. RST = higher hangers/pedals for clearance at off road dirt trails/single track trails, dirt, mud, sand, rock crawling where you will be climbing steep hills or descending down treacherous terrain were you would need that extra clearance and instant torque and braking.

@justinspirational 3 жыл бұрын
@@coolhawk2003 no, all 3rd generation RS models (HT or HS) all have higher pedal hangers than the earlier models and I'm getting the third generation RS-HT for mostly offroading, especially at my weight at around 13 stones/200 pounds and 6'3 tall- I think the test in this video is very unscientific and everyone I've asked (including several dealers) all confirmed that not only does the HT have greater torque and hill-climbing ability (I do a lot of hill climbs off road here) but it also definitely has greater acceleration forces than the HS too (due to the extra torque)- the advantage of the HS is literally only that it can go 5mph faster without cutout but I won't be going over 30mph (more likely less) riding off road anyway (as the surfaces are too bumpy/loose to go faster) and can still get it up to 40mph on higher battery/voltage levels on street if I wanted to, certainly downhill anyway when I want to- HT for the win!

@@justinspirational ok I think I am thinking of the msp with the pedals. Rs hs rated for 10 more mph probably get alittle more. But yes ht is most differently the off road wheel of the to. Also the hs has more range do to the less torque. He said it's smoother again cause of less low end torque. Was thinking at half speed or more the hs will have more top end torque. Very cool stuff. Thanks for the chat.

@@coolhawk2003 yes I think you're right that the HS will have a little more range depending on how you ride it. Don't know if the HS will have more high end torque though.. It's wound for speed, not torque.. Not sure what 'smoother' means experientially..? Coming from onewheels both HS and HT have so much more range than I'm used to as well as so much more torque, power and speed comparatively

Simpy HS magnet is 30mm HT38mm = This mean in same load HT motor transfer electricity to movement efectively HS transfer too but many electricity change to hot/motor temperature increase. Logicaly then HS have better range smaler magnets smaler rezistande. You weight nothing for people 260+lbs or 120 Kg is big difference HT vs HS thats true. 🐷🚩

I don't think this test is very good the distance is not enough. When in doubt always go for the high torque especially when the high speed and high torque models there's only a few miles per hour difference at top end. You always want the high torque for the rapid acceleration and the climbing power. Perhaps the first three seconds the torque isn't there because it has to get up to speed a bit?
