mam, i had a doubt in real gas eq.{ as in that eq. we are putting ( v-nb) which correspond to the real vol. or corrected vol. but in case of pressure why we are not putting the real pressure alone in the eq. instead of putting ideal pressure{ p(real)+(an^2/v^2)..... please help me out ...it will be so kind of you

Mam can u explain water of crystallization 10th level. With definitio and proper keuwords
@SeemaDhawanArora
@SeemaDhawanArora 6 жыл бұрын
MyLovelyCreations - Harini Salts are made by boiling certain reactants together and then concentrating the solution and leaving the solution sitting still for some time to allow crystals to be formed. When crystals are formed in these aqueous solutions some molecules of water get trapped inside the crystals. This is known as water of crystallization. To indicate that this water is present in a sample we write the number of molecules that may be associated with one formula unit of the salt by putting a dot and writing the number of H2O molecules associated with it. For eg, CuSO4.5H2O is Copper sulfate salt with 5 molecules of water of crystallization. For every one molecule of CuSO4 there are 5 molecules of water. These crystals that have water of crystallization are called hydrated crystals. When we heat these hydrated crystals are heated they lose the water of crystallization to become anhydrous. Hydrated CuSO4.5H2O is blue. When we heat it over a flame, it loses its water of crystallization and becomes anhydrous CuSO4 which is white in color.

So can the explanation be like ... Salts contain fixed molecules of water that provides it a specific colour and crystal shape. This is called water of crystallization Can this be an explanation mam?
@SeemaDhawanArora
@SeemaDhawanArora 6 жыл бұрын
MyLovelyCreations - Harini Not all salts have it. Also I would suggest understanding concepts in your own language. But if you are asked to state laws or definitions, always use the language of the book in exams. Because they explain the thing in minimum words in the best way.
