Personal anecdote (n=1). I was diagnosed with BD in 2010 (age 37, Male) after going thru 10 specialists--most of who were indifferent and frankly, downright lazy. Finally found a rheumy who gave a damn. My main symptoms: huge apthous ulcers in throat, positive pathergy test, some joint pain, minor skin lesions. Went thru several oral drugs (including colchicine) early on with no effect. Got on Etanercept (Enbrel) in 2012 - Worked pretty well for reducing my apthous ulcers - many on soft palate and back of throat. Seemed to stop working 10 yrs later. Got on Apremilast (Otezla) in 2022 - seemed to work great for about a year, then throat ulcers returned. Inflammation seemed to be less than before, however. Most sores are now further up/down throat and are not visible, but occasionally still get a monster on soft palate or back of throat (visible) that requires prednisone and takes weeks to heal. Lots of scarring back there. I have a healthy lifestyle with good nutrition, exercise, sauna, etc. Next step: carnivore diet.

No steroids, Azathioprine or any biological drug like Humira and Infliximab?
