"But since he had few words to work with (Heraclitus) -- Greek had only just begun to evolve a philosophical vocabulary -- the lines between 'sun', 'torch', 'light', 'energy' and 'being' are all pretty fuzzy and so what seems like a very primitive metaphor is more like an effort to get past the limits of an early iron-age vocabulary. The torch of Heraclitus is... everything, Or at least 'the universal principle that binds everything together'."

Where is this excerpt from? And is it the ancients that lack the vocabular to see what we see, or is it the other way around. Humans understanding of cause and effect warps our view of the past and leaves us with the assumption that newer is better.

...SONG OF THE DAY!!!
