Breakdowns in extreme metal exist because of rap. Ask Suffocation and Internal Bleeding about it lol
@domenichughes77924 жыл бұрын
@Flying Spaghetti 🙄 That's like asking if growling is music. It's a vocal style, and if you put a backtrack to it, then yeah it's part of the music. Also not at all what I'm arguing, which is that it's really big "greasy Slayer kid" energy to just write off rap and hip-hop wholesale. Like I can picture the Tapout shirt from here
@domenichughes77924 жыл бұрын
@Flying Spaghetti I think you're trying way too hard to pigeonhole a subjective form of expression into a rigid definition. Rap is listened to in the same contexts, using the same media, with the same visceral reaction and as the result of similar techniques. Not to say death metal and hip hop are similar musical styles (except see my previous comment--Internal Bleeding once opened for a Mobb Deep show I saw and they plugged Mobb HARD), but they clearly share performative and creative roots. That said I can appreciate a sweaty Batman shirt.
