I love their normal stage theatrics and makeup and everything. But somehow this is just really fucking cool. Just shows they can be fucking badass and tight as fuck anytime, anywhere, even if it's on borrowed equipment. There was the same problem at Metalcamp 2009. Dimmu Borgir and Satyricon arrived and their gear didn't, so some of Dimmu didn't have their outfits (ICS Vortex wore a Metalcamp tshirt) and none of Satyricon had any of their gear, including the keyboards with their patches. Ended up with very different shows.

Good on them for continuing to play and good on all the other bands for lending them their gear, the show must go on! I think playing without their 'make-up' for want of better word, actually looks cool and shows progression. I'd even say that there music is bigger then their image which is a true testament to a band's presence upon the world's metal scene! I think an entire 'unmasked' tour would be a great thing to see...but just one tour!

+WestSideNiggaz I certainly get what they're trying to do with their image, lyrics, and art. The music videos for sure have improved in the past years and have become more thoughtful and artistic. I have seen them live several times and I see that during different songs, it certainly is like a ritual so I guess maybe I shouldn't say I hope there's a time where bands don't feel the need to do this because it is awesome. I think more so I just hope that if a band wants to be black metal, they don't need to put on corpse paint and won't be called hipsters if they're playing metal without the look.

Read the description. It's common for bands to lend their gear to other bands who lost their gear due to problem at festivals and shows. Hail of Bullets lost their gear in Prague when they had to play at Brutal Assault this year, and their second guitar player was also sick. They still played a killer show with the gear that Krabathor lent them. So there's that.
