These videos are AWESOME!!!! As you know, I'm a USK lover!!! Having a complete kit review, as well as gear reviews, is important to me. Let's me know what I've forgotten, what I need to upgrade, and loads more!!! REALLY appreciate all the work that's gone into these vids, not just by Nutn, but the WHOLE Nutnfancy team! These vids are philosophy, philosophy of use, gear reviews, survival, and adventure, all in one (or 3) videos!!!! LOVING IT!!!

This is a great series. Although I am an older private citizen and probably do not need to consider this in my limited future life, I am enjoying the series immensely. I do love the gear and have put together lots of your recommendations just for the fondling aspect, including this MAP 3500. Hopefully my descendants will appreciate what they will inherit. Thanks for what you do and the countless hours of enjoyment you've given me the last few years. Please keep it up, you've a talent for this.

@nutnfancy when you said "train as you fight. fight as you train." i was carried back to Military Police school. we trained hard and fought just as hard. as a MP we worked in 3 man teams. even though i have been out for a while i would to this day i would give my life for my team. when i was injuried i would never ask my team to carry my load and because of that my team and my squad knew what ever happened i was gonna fight on. that is the kind of respect that can only be earned.

I remember a friend who was an IDF paratrooper who said that an often repeated phrase was, " You're a paratrooper! You're SUPPOSED to be surrounded!" Great video. As always. And IMHO, out of the whole kit, I believe that the mind and the mindset are THE only indispensable components. As you expressed more eloquently, having the best gear in the world means nothing if you just give up and wait to die.

Nutn, I was a driver/gunner on a guntruck in Iraq doing long-haul convoy escort. I should have done more incase they kicked out some scouts, or I was left behind. But if I had to choose one thing to have more of, it would have been water (or something to trade for water or buy off local help. Great vid, and thanks for all the time and effort!

For the Ground Forces the biggest goal is to get back to friendly lines no matter the methods. Your idea about a BEL kit works for those of us who are or were in the Army or Marine Corps, but I use today a green or other neutral color pack. In a civilian situation I'm avoiding bandits and marauders not dropping your stuff is also a wise thing. Don't leave a presence when you have to travel to safety.

One good thing about mags on the outside of the pack is, depending on the pouches/holders you use, you could move them to your belt.

Nutnfancy, as you feel 5.56mm NATO is underpowered for your CES, you should know that your choice of carbine, the SU-16C, is now being manufactured by Kel-Tec in 300BLK (as is the CA). Still 4.7lbs. More power with standard supersonic rounds and if you're in a stealthy situation where staying concealed is important enough that you'd use a subsonic bullet with pistol caliber power you can do that. MSRP is $50-80 more than the 5.56 chambered version, and the 1913 railed compact forend is standard!

I was a aggressor at Cherry Point, a very seasoned Master Sgt, was the instructor, and was reported to have successfully escaped maybe two times in diffrent conflicts?. I was the NCO, we went to the legal hold barracks and asked the soon to be discharged Marines under less than honorable conditions, if they would like to chase officers around the woods for a couple of days. Which they did with great joy, and we tortured the downed airmen, to see who broke first, very educational.

In adding to what nutn said about civvies not having a camo pack or gear. You very well may NEED that camo down the road, once you clear the urban areas or city and attracting the wrong attention isn't your primary concern- not attracting ANY ATTENTION is- so carry something like a camo poncho to drape over yourself or your pack to camo up, maybe get one of those US Military camo "tire covers" with the stretch corded opening. That way you can just quickly pull it over your gear, or off, if need be. Maybe sew a neon orange piece to the inside, so you can signal for rescue if need be. Or, carry a super lightweight camo net, like the digital camo "ghillie netting" Camosystems makes, maybe in a universal camo like the Flyway (brown duck camo, but blends in most all terrain, summer or winter, desert or jungle) They make it in the Killer Kamo, a greener color, like Multicam colors, too, among others.

Bullpups are generally heavier, for the same barrel length. This is because they require more material and mass to be made towards the back, though it does "shoulder" lighter. However they are technically on average heavier.

I see your point, no doubt...He does mention civilian use, but that would require changes to that system...which is noted as being for aircrew downed B.E.L....for us civies in the situation you mentioned it might serve us well to be totally off the grid...but that gps is a hell of a lot faster and more accurate than a joe blow (like myself) trying to figure out a topographic map and do math on the fly..that's a skill right there..but I do think you have a valid point on how it applies to you..
