I'm a 61 year old African American true blue Elvis fan, I was gifted by my eldest sister, an all expense paid, flights and Graceland Hotel May 16, 3 nights stay. I grew up loving Elvis movies, music and talent. I thrilled some of the hotel staff by singing every song that played in the hotel lobby. My sister fulfilled my #1 bucket list, I met several people that said their bucket list is complete with The Graceland Tour. I flew home feeling blessed to have shared this wonderful experience, and took some amazing photo's of the Meditation Garden, Elvis's burial site, along w/his family. Amazing experience, I flew back to Detroit with a huge smile, from ear to ear. Simply a wonderful trip.

So much to learn, so much learned and so intriguing! I swear girl, I could watch your video's all day long! LOL I was so confused with that room in the kitchen, even though I was looking at your diagram, I just couldn't place where this pantry was. So I had to look at my photos to see where that "TV/monitor" was, then I had a lightbulb moment. LOL Duh to me! Anyway, I always wondered about the window the the tree's covered and what was behind them as well as that part of the house on the outside. That sure cleared things up! I really loved the part about the princess tub, never heard of it before or saw one. Nice to know where that photo of Lisa Marie was taken in the bath. I also love seeing a little bit of the "women's' bathroom off Elvis's office. You just blow me away with all the info you find and all the things you debunk! So much effort is put into these videos and it really shows. As I always say, you rock Ashley!

Ashley, this is some of your best detective work. I've always thought there is a dumbwaiter at the top of the back stairs. Makes perfect sense that it is actually a plumbing access panel. Noticed something in the vintage 1939 bathroom ad. The green sink looks very much like the sink in Grandma's bathroom downstairs. Thanks for continuing to share these videos. Happy New Year!

Not sure, but I think the original lampshades you mentioned are in Vernon's office. They are on a pair of satellite lamps. There's a photo of them in Chet Flippo's book titled "Graceland".

You just keep raising the bar on your content. Today’s episode is one of your best. The blueprint explanations are very helpful to understanding the interior of the house. I don’t understand why any builder used the glass blocks. They aren’t attractive & definitely aren’t energy efficient ( which wasn’t a consideration in the 1930’s). Perhaps it was to add sunlight into the bathroom or the foyer area. Meaning no disrespect, but wouldn’t it be marvelous if Angie made a POV recording of the upstairs? I completely agree that it shouldn’t be open to the public, but that doesn’t stop me from being curiously nosey. You are the Nancy Drew of the Elvis world. Please continue to investigate. Happy New Year's Ashley 🎉🎊🎇🎆💝 And hey! GREAT JOB! I LOVED THIS! Honestly you have quite the 🔍👀💼 I gotta say my favorite photo is the one of Nancy Rooks & Minnie Mae. I could not help but notice that the piano Minnie Mae is resting a hand in is an all gold one. Now I recall that Priscilla had a piano re- done up in all gold for Elvis one year for either his birthday or Christmas (I can't remember honestly). So maybe that will help you more accurately date that photo. I do think you are right though- late 1960's to early 1970's. I can't remember specifically when she gifted Elvis that gold piano. I think it was the piano that Elvis actually bought for his mother back in 1956 (possibly, I think anyway because I remember he bought her that piano when they were still living in the house on Audubon Drive). Anyway, Elvis apparently never gave away or sold that piano. I think he kept it in storage (in Graceland maybe? Again I can't remember.) But as you know I am sure that gold piano- last I read anyway- is on display at the Hard Rock Cafe in Florida. Ginger Alden on FB made a post a few years back saying that during their ‘77 Hawaii trip, Elvis was having her upstairs bathroom at Graceland (with the princess bath) redecorated in turquoise and white. I wonder if the bathroom is still decorated in those color schemes like that or if it was redone by anyone after his death. I think Elvis let each girlfriend redecorate that bathroom to their own liking.

After Elvis passed , did the maids stay on for aunt delta ? I can’t imagine it was just her taking care of the home , mowing the lawn , etc before Graceland opened to the public ? That might be a good series “reading Elvis unopened mail “ on the official Graceland channel . I’m sure the carpet is a different color now based on gingers surprise when elvis surprised her with a new bathroom color? Red would clash .

Ashley, I believe the picture of Dodger, Delta, and Lisa was taken in June 1979. If you look at the picture of Lisa and Priscilla visiting Vernon in the hospital before he passed, Lisa appears to have on the same top, and her hair is pulled back the same in both. Also, the picture of Lisa and Priscilla in Graceland ( Lisa sitting on Priscilla’s lap) included in Priscilla’s book seems to be from the same day.

Lol depends what you want to see. They give out iPads with headsets but you can refuse it. You roam on the tour path at your own speed unless you choose a higher package with different perks.

Hi Ashley I learned about those glass tiles at the top of the front staircase. Now I do understand everything about its placement and size of the bathroom. However the placement of these square glass “window” type blocks has me puzzled. Since you think that this bathroom is all original, I have been puzzled why they would have placed these glass blocks right there. Usually they are used for basement windows or outside window placement. But these are in the center of the house! Usually the windows are used for placement for natural lighting. Why do you think that they were built into a wall that is located in the center of the house? Please respond! As this question just doesn’t make any sense to me! Thank you!!

No, the Hidden Graceland tours are like $500ish and only once a year or so. A couple times EPE held auctions to be on an episode of their Hidden Graceland series, so he paid a few thousand and was on, just as another woman was on an episode from an auction.

Wow! Great photos! The arrangement of the bathroom is still perplexing. Although, I think you nailed the princess tub theory!!! The area where the tub should be does not look like a Princess tub though. And Lisa’s tub is not shaped right in her room either. Also, the plumbing access door at the top of the stairs, from the kitchen stairs, is too low when you consider that the bathroom floor on the other side is about 16-18 inches higher than the platform at the top of the main staircase. From the top of the stairs, you make a turn and go up at least 2 steps more to get to the actual floor of the upstairs. That bathroom has always been an issue for me, especially with the decorative square glass block. Nothing feels right about the angle and the illusions of walls and countertops there. Drives me nuts. I hope this makes sense. I can see it in the construction and understand it. But I can’t explain it.
