About half way through the video when he said maybe have the RF on the racket butt I was like well one of the iconic Wilson things is asking M or W at the start of the match so it's not right. About 30 seconds later I'm soo glad he acknowledged it

My man knows that the stencil doesn’t matter. most people will either buy unstrung or get the default strings replaced quickly. The butt cap is forever 👍

I really like the black background with the red "W" butt cap in the video.

It's a very unusual racquet. Doesn't really play like anything currently on the market. Radical MP/Pro would be closest thing I would liken it to.

It is by far the best racket I know. Roger Federer is legendary and so is Wilson and if you combine the two you get the Wilson RF 01 which is quite a beast. Roger you will never be forgotten.

I'm so enjoying the series on how the RF racket came about. This is a timeless dedication to Roger and a celebration of his legacy. I love the details and how he incorporates even his children in the design as a ' gentle reminder' . While I no longer play tennis, it is tempting to purchase one of these rackets to add to my memorabilia as a huge admirer and fan of Roger.

nice. what difference do the power pads make? is it a damping effect? more control? more power? more pocketing?

I think they put it in to make the natural gut strings last longer. And the sound is a bit different. But like Federer always says it’s just a nice back in the days touch for him.

@@niclasbrandenburg4752 oh yeah. the gut strings rubbing on the frame would break easier. thanks for reminding me.

yes we all know they have most consistent QA but most serious players who value specs go to the shop and check the balance before purchasing or multiples. At the end of the day its the feel of the racket on contact that matters more some just wont like yonex, wilson, babolat etc. Yonex has been on the rise thanks to Kygrios Osaka and Ruud, the marketing was barely existent a decade ago in tennis in the US market. All rackets are just rackets the rest is all marketing.

No, a tennis racket has different values. The Wilson rackets handles are more octagonal, HEAD and other companies have smoother handles. The pro stock rackets are modified to the likes of players. Pure aero provides a more fast and spinny surface. Extreme gives you power spin and good weight.
