i've been considering adding a carbon steel pan to my arsenl & this video sold me, but once as i go to purchase it, it's sold out 🙃 it's very impressive that the pan sold out within 24(?) hours of release. hopefully the next batch releases soon!

Love it! Wonder why the cooking surface on this one is not as smooth as Made In’s other carbon steel pans?

This one has multiple layers of preseasoning on it. The smooth finish is unseasoned. These multiple layers of seasoning start the hardest part of the seasoning process on smooth pans and allow the subsequent seasoning or cooking to build quicker and easier with less effort

Yeah, I can see how a good seasoning right off the bat would be convenient because it can be hard to achieve on carbon steel and cast iron, especially when you think you have a good seasoning going and you cook certain foods and it strips a chunk of seasoning off the pan; it can set you back.

It does get hot, however the Limited Edition pan comes with a free Made In Chef Towel to use when moving the pan around high heat.

Just got mine and the surface is not shiny and smooth and appears to be layered with some kind of coating. Any other type of metal/material that was used to coat this?
