When I watched Goyo, napansin ko agad na madami siyang handheld movements compared sa Heneral Luna and dun palang sobrang naoverwhelm na ako kasi mas complex ang compositing kapag mas complicated ung motion na itatrack pero napakahusay huhu. Naiyak ako habang pinapanood tong 5-minuter. KAYA NG PINOY! KAYANG-KAYA!!!

This is also one of the first things I noticed (at first viewing--lols), although for a different reason. In Luna's BTS, Jerrold mentioned na ang motion ng camera is dependent on the mood of the general. Usually short, straightforward, and reassured--kagaya ng Heneral...pero meron ibang artistic shots kung artistic mood si Luna (like that mountain scene). So I took the shaky camera work sa lack of self-assurance ni Goyo kasi nga bata pa, tapos long, wide camera pans kung nagmumuni muni siya. You would notice na the moment tanggap na niya yung kapalaran at tungkulin niya sa bayan, wala nang shake. Gaash i'm obsessing on this incredible team!! ^_^

Sa totoo lang kaya nating pinoy ang nagagawa ng mga Hollywood movies ang problema lang ay hindi masyado napapansin ang kagalingan at kahusayan natin sa ganitong bagay. Halos lahat ng tao mas prayoridad ang mga love story movies 💔😢

Almost every aspect nung film was astoundingly realistic na hindi pansin yung effects na ginamit nila. Hindi mo nahalata na green screen and layered lang pala yung mga puno at lumang bahay sa sobrang linis ng editing. Yung color grading is actually impressive, talagang nakakahalo siya sa emosyon nung equivalent scene. And yung sounds talagang realistic lalo na kapag nasa sinehan, whether it be dialogue or giyera na mismo. Amazing production for Philippine cinematography!

technically, I love each scenes took place. laging may symbolisms na lumalabas like yung scene na nalunod sa tubig si Goyo saka yung looking agila scene, yung tahol Goyo scene. Apart from my reactions to the plot itself, I think my friends were starting to get irritated with me because of my constant appreciation of everything. The colors, the soundtrack, the cinematography... Everything was just amazing. I had a student discount, but if I had to pay regularly, I wouldn't complain. The quality of the masterpiece I saw was worth my money (in fact, probably deserved more of it). Kudos to the team! You did an amazing job.

Sana Magkaroon pa ng maraming movies na more on Philippine history. Sa ngayon kasi hindi na kilala ng ibang kabataan kung Sino ang mga tao ang nag buwis ng buhay para makamit ang Kalayaan at kung Bakit naging malaya tayo sa mga mananakop. I absolutely hate Filipino films due to the corniness, predictable storytelling, the abundance of cheap rom-coms and cheap laughs. In Goyo, the film sparked my interest to follow, love and support the film series. The film made me feel proud this was made by Filipinos, it brings history to the children of today. (fun fact: I haven’t seen Heneral Luna before. When I watched Goyo, I knew I had to watch the predecessor, Heneral Luna was also a great film)
