Excellent video. Thanks for sharing. I recently purchased a pre-owned Parlee RZ7. Fabulous bike! I wasn’t aware of Parlee until about a month ago. Videos like these are great for brand awareness, especially for those interested in bespoke bikes. It helps bring soul to the brand which is a key element for success, especially for bespoke manufacturers. My RZ7 frame isn’t handmade in Beverly, MA, like the Z-Zero, but they are siblings. It’s great to see how the custom bikes are made. Finally, condolences to Bob’s family and the Parlee team. Wishing all the best for the new ownership and team.

how is it custom made if you make all your parts from the same moulds? I understand you can make a custom lamination schedule but isn't the customisation be the moulds themself?

We can change the geometry of the frame (lengths and angles) with our other captured silicone molds. We don't show them in detail in the videos as they are our "secret sauce". The molds are very complex and expensive to produce. They also have to be regularly replaced. They produce incredible results however. When you combine the ability of changing the laminate schedule in the tubes and the junctions with the ability to change lengths and angles, then you have true, full customization.

Would be great to see the staff wearing gloves during laminating the prepreg 😊

If not for the safety of the staff it should be to not contaminate the prepreg with skin oils.

Most professional manufacturing facilities also mandate the use of safety glasses as well.

@@parlee-cyclesI guess it's a matter of resources and whether or not somebody's willing to spend the extra money knowing that the product is manufactured here in the US versus overseas.
