For decades, the Chinese have been taught by name brand manufacturers on how to build these products along with all the tools needed. So it was only a matter of time for them to get in on the action. Back in the 1990s we were rebuilding vehicle trim and bumpers that required rechroming, it was a long and complex process that includes cleaning and dipping a specific part into a vat of chromium-based solution. As the new u.s. regulations started to take effect and drive up cost, it was no longer profitable for us. You could actually ship the parts to China to be rechromed and back cheaper than we could do the process here in the u.s. Thanks for the video Jasper!

@@brucegelman5582 will do it with pleasure, wish a long lasting life to your chinarello, but I doubt it does. And again bikes made of t800 are twice cheaper. But I don't remember who else besides Ali bikes produce their bikes using that kind of materials. Even Yoeleo claims their bikes are made of t1100 toray, which is well used among the brands.
@jasperverkuijl2 ай бұрын
It’s all bullshit mate. According to Stephen, smaller brands can’t even get their hands on T1000 grade carbon because it’s also used in military etc and there is limited supply. A frame is usually a mix of different grades carbon. And the brand will proudly mention using T1000 or 1100 when they maybe use a piece of it in the frame (or not and just claim they do…) but it won’t be the complete bike from that material. T800 isn’t cheap, T1000 is just much more expensive. The new agile and SLC of Winspace use T1000 and new carbon technology to get a high end frame. The Winspace t1550 is notoriously stiff actually so not sure what you are talking about it being soft and heavy….

Duh. Thanks for a very interesting video. Couldn't help noticing this: 13:26: lady in Winspace's own factory is wearing double gloves while handling epoxy prepreg. 31:19 lady in 3rd party frame factory is not using any gloves at all while handling prepreg. Wonder if this is some new type of prepreg ;-)

Yeah I don’t know tbh. Guess they should all be using gloves. I didn’t know it was a thing when I was there

Riding a bicycle on a motorway? Seriously?😂
@jasperverkuijl2 ай бұрын
Everything for the right shot😜 It wasn’t a “motorway”. Just a bigger road but not that high speeds and lots of stop signs etc

Do you have another bike currently? You can compare the stack and reach tables of the frames.

I have a SLC 2 and T1550 in size L and I’m about the same height. So I’m think L

@@jasperverkuijl Hey Jasper,yes I have a Specialized Tarmac size 58. Stem size 120,handlebar size 420.
@jasperverkuijl16 күн бұрын
sounds like a very big hike for you? I find 58 quite big for myself. Also bars can be narrower. 40 would be good. 38 possibly if you’re flexible and want to be aero. Again, compare the geo tables 👍🏻

Excellent video Jasper. I have 2 sets of Winspace wheels, I needed parts recently, contacted Winspace directly and they sent me a new hub straight away. The Agile is top runner for my next frame

Height test, he said 550cm, but your wording show is 550mm*
@jasperverkuijlАй бұрын
yes its on purpose, that's the correction on what Stephen said. He said 550cm but meant 550mm (55 cm)

Winspace is one of those Chinese brand you can fully trust they are transparent has a very nice costumer service and if you need frame replacement they are willing to replace it asap as long as you described to them how you damage the frame, you just need to be honest with them.

15:39 what kind of QC is this if even on this unfocused shot you can see that the thickness of the wall is uneven? It's not even round. Top notch PR for selecting a faulty item for promotional video. 👌

Looks fine to me. Maybe you are looking at the edge burr or something.

how do they smoothen the internal frame from having sharp unfinished spikes?
@jasperverkuijl2 ай бұрын
The latex inside makes it super smooth
