I don’t watch vlogs because i usually find them boring but I’m loving this series & i look forward to every sidemen video that has u in it. I wasn’t going to leave a comment but when you were talking about how self-critical you’ve been, how honest and raw you were about your feelings-i just had to share how much i appreciate you. I get how you're feeling with the anxiety and how you feel in certain situations. My only resolution I have for this year is to be kinder to myself both mentally and physically and finding the right balance. Would you reflect on your closest friend in the same way you reflect on yourself? Just bear that in mind dude, it helps. Your grind is really inspirational to me and many others. Randy here is basic gym routine that you can follow (from someone that has been going to the gym for close to 10 years): Chest and Triceps: 1. Barbell or Dumbell bench press 2. Incline barbell or dumbell or smith machine bench press 3. Some kind of flys (this can be cable, machine or with dumbells 4. Triceps pushdown 5. Any triceps exercise where you do it over the head (this can be on the cables or easy bar skull crushers or dumbell skull crushers or overhead triceps extensions Back and biceps: 1. Lat pulldown 2. Seated row 3. Any machine for back 4. Back extension 5. Bicep curls (any kind) 6. Cable bicep curls or seated ez bar preacher curls Legs and shoulders: 1. Any variation of a squat 2. Leg extensions 3. Hamstring curl machine 4. Side lateral raises 5. Any rear delt exercise Rest day: If you want do abs, calves or anything you think would be benefitial Cardio: Reev is right, generaly it is best to do cardio after the weights because you need to do them when you have the most energy. 5mins of cardio before the weights is a good way to warm up, but anything more than that is going to affect how much you can push yourself when lifting Everywhere where i said ANY, do the exercise that you like to do, preferably the ones where you feel the burn the most. We are all different so general advice: do the exercises that suit you best. After a while you will get sucked into it and start to reasurch and learn as you go. The most important thing is to just get in the door of that gym. When motivation is down tell yourself just to go and sit there and do nothing, sit on your phone if you like. 9 times out of 10 you will tell yourself ok im here now let me do just 1 exercise and before you know it you did the whole workout and feel amaizing. This is just a basic gym routine and a good starting point, change things as you go. Try new exersices often so that you can know what you like and dont like and have fun! 0:55 Morning sessions for sure, in terms of having a productive day and giving myself a mental boost. Night sessions are alright but my body and mind is often tired and the session doesn't hit the same. On a side note, I have really loved seeing all of your vlogs man. They're fun and relatable and most importantly they're honest. I look forward to watching these whenever they come out, even if it isn't daily and even if it's just you sitting at home and chatting (the same way I enjoy listening to you and Simon on the podcast). Keep it up bro! The views may drop but the supporters will keep coming back.

Hey Randy, every night before I go to bed I write a to-do list on my whiteboard for the next day (even though all the stuff is in my calendar), which feels good to physically tick the tasks off that I've done at the end of the day and keeps me honest when I'm being harsh on myself or not being harsh enough. Watched the full 20 minutes of this mate and very much enjoyed it, a lot of this content is inspirational even if you don’t put that much weight on it Been listening to a pod recently on my runs that talks about how we speak to ourselves and the compassion we give ourselves. One of the main points is how being social really helps our mental health and how calling a friend after work rather than watching a show creates massive change so the social circle you are a special part of is one to be proud of. Another main talking point is being nice to yourself on journeys, be it fitness, sobriety etc. Fair fucking play for getting to the gym for them 25 minutes, not every day has to be perfect

personally love a morning gym session to get me started for the day. also overthinking and being anxious are very human responses to changes in life, you're doing great randy, the vlogs are great, your personality and humour shine in every video you're in. I'm glad you're talking about things honestly online, it's nice to see people normalising that even typically smiling faces can have insecurities and anxieties.

I’d recommend having designated workout days. Here is what works for me: two days upper with a mile run after (Monday, Thursday), two days lower with a core exercise after (Tuesday, Friday). It helps on those days you’re not feeling 100% and you’ll have a strict program to follow.

Its gottaaaaa be a morning session my guy, it sets you up for the day and fills you up with endorphins to keep you pumped and the mental feeling great! Night sessions aren't the worst if you're schedule doesn't align with a morning one but you should keep in mind that these peptides will happen then as well and will keep you up affecting your sleep schedule so missing a few sessions isn't the worst thing either! Keep up the good work my guy, you're inspiring me to make daily uploads too!

So glad your enjoying the gym Randy, morning gym sessions are clear imo, I’m usually in there around 8, luckily for me my gym is right next door to work so I can grab a quick shower and strait in, I use it almost like a morning meditation session, it helps me to keep a level head while running a team or 12👍🏻 hope this helped

Night session in the gym is unbeatable. If you go late enough and no one is there and you have had the full day to carb up, you are full of energy for the workout and you don't need to wait to use the machines.

Hi Randy. I’m doing a weight loss journey myself and I find that working out at night is better for my schedule because I’m busy during the day but I do a run in the morning and a couple of quick exercises to feel productive and wake up for the day. Love the vlog vids and keep it up and stay strong💪🏽

Honestly, the work you are doing right now is helping you A LOT. It keeps your mind at the right place and you feel way better than you would by just relaxing, because you would overthink way more. For now you got to think about the next step, next day, next event and not future in general. I use to use the negative thoughts and energy to push myself to go hard at the gym, once you become more positive, the push towards being a harder worker, physically mentally (it can help in other aspects in your life) then that's what you can push to be. It's a satisfying feeling.

I like that you aren't happy with yourself when you feel you didn't try enough at the gym, but I will say going and having a bad session is FAR better than not going at all. You're still building the habit, your discipline and your mental toughness just by going.

just seen the recent Randy vlog, about the gym stuff i think low volume and high intensity would be best for your busy schedule atm (im no PT just trying to help) low volume would be like 2 or 3 sets of each exercise at like 6-10 or 8-12 reps on each, one thing that can keep you motivated with this is keeping track of what weight for how many reps you hit each session, works pretty well for me as i always want to better myself, i would recommend working with a PT for exercise selection and overall form but i’m sure there’s people on kofi and discord that would help

I rarely go to the gym in the evening because my evenings are usually quite busy, I have dinner late, etc. at uni too it’s easier to fit gym in before lunch between lectures

Hey Randy, first vlog I’ve watched. Seen you on the sidemen channel many times and after seeing the video you did with them doing ‘the cube’ challenges I just wanted to see your channel and see how you’re doing. STOP BEING HARD ON YOURSELF. You were feeling down about not getting much done in the gym, well you actually got to the gym so big up you. I created my channel for me and my kids to have a creative outlet and a way of making memories that will last. Their is nothing harder than being away from them, they’re like an amulet that eases my anxiety. I know how hard it is to switch off from over analysing yourself, but please be proud of what you accomplish every day. Be proud of the father you are. Keep growing, keep pushing and keep being your awesome self. You got this 💪🏻

I hope you keep this up Randy, I feel that’s it’s giving you purpose and a place to voice how you feel where you feel comfortable sharing it. For those saying don’t over think etc it’s good support but this guys emotions will be all over the place after his brake up and complete change in his life. I feel like he sees this as a type of therapy he comfortable with. Some people can’t face going to see a therapist for a number of reason and maybe Randy the same and this is his most comfortable way of working through his emotions. Keep it going Randy. Showing how you are everyday is why I keep coming back. It’s because it is REAL not an instagram page of perfect pictures but the raw you. Keep it up my guy.

I personally go for night sessions because one I’m a bit self conscious and in the night the gym is way emptier than in the morning so I just feel more comfortable working out hope this help 👍🏼
