Modern day daredevil legends Cody and Kyle Ives give us the opportunity to see the "Wall of Death" from the inside out .Including an in depth conversation about the motorcycles they ride and what it takes to pilot them around the inside wall of a 24 foot wooden silo . This video gives a behind the scenes perspective and provides an example of what you may see if you ever get a chance to view one of their live shows in person .

Nice balls, Terry 😂🤣 I do believe you're ready for dry or oily conditions with a pair like that👍👍 I have a couple of those myself, but I still wouldn't ride the wall of death 😳😉 It looks sooooo easy... and so does curling... I couldn't walk for 2 days after the first time I curled, thought it would be easy... WRONG !!! The wall of death ... if it was easy, I do believe this video would have included a clip of you on the wall... 😮🤣

@@TRyanLearnBikes yes, I would think that, getting down from there is the tricky thing? After you've been up there for a while, and your brain is sideways... Then, shifting back to normal might be a little confusing...

It's not as hard as you'd think. It's sure safer than riding on the road. Once you learn how to control a bike at slow speed and listen to the one teaching you, you will be fine. In the UK it does take about 7 years to become a trick and stunt rider because you only perform at weekends and around 7 months of the year. Once you start to relax, and take it all in, you will be up on the wall (straight wall riding) in one day. I'm retired now and miss performing on the wall. It can knacker your back over the year as it did mine. It will bite you though, if you start showing off. We have all come off once or twice and the way over that is to get right back up as quick as you can. My last ride was 7 years ago........

Hey man thats very interesting that you are an ex Wall of Death rider .Thanks for commenting and giving me a bit of legit insight .What an exciting job to have as an actual stunt rider ,travelling around the country performing in shows . No doubt its tough on the body espesially after a crash or two .Yikes man thats wild . I took a quick look at your channel and saw one of your videos where you built a Wall of Death keepsake box .In the thumbnail for that video there is a framed picture to the left of the box . Is that you with your bike inside the wall ?

@@TRyanLearnBikes It's not a job my friend, it's a way of life. We ride these Walls for very little money and there is no insurance either. Yes we come off from time to time, but not to often. The most we get are burns and splinters haha Not many have died from performing but it has lived up to its name for one or two riders. Two French brothers many years ago tried something different. The first rider went up as normal and then his brother went up in the other direction. one stayed at the top and the other stayed at the bottom. They then tried to cross over and one banged his head on the other bike killing him. It was a very dangerous stunt that cost a life. I could tell you a few more, but we try to hide the fact that you could die At the beginning of the season after having four months off in the winter for maintenance etc, we take the first few rides carefully. It's all good fun and a real buzz...

I get that , the risks are high and the pay is not great so it must be a way of life for sure . I figured there would have been a few fatalities over the years ,Certainly something in the back of ones mind every time they ride . But as you say if ts alot of fun and a real buzz its hard not to want to grab the bull by the horns I guess.@@oldmanonamission8055

@@TRyanLearnBikes The risk isn't really that high once you learn. The most important part of the bike is the tires. If you have a blowout you are off. If you have an engine go or cutout on you you can clutch in and get down. In 40 years I have only come off twice and only seen 4 others come off in that time. You just have to make sure all the bikes are well-maintained. You wouldn't be able to change my sparkplug without me knowing about it. Once I started the bike I would know right away someone touched my bike. Tires are checked and wiped free of oil and dust before going up on ever show.

@oldmanonamission8055 Theres no doubt in my mind that a well maintained machine would be paramount. I couldn't imagine having to deal with any failures during a show ...that would not be good .
