Ugh! You’re beautiful, first of all. I’ve always thought the best compliment a woman can get is to be called elegant. I’d say that suits you nicely. Very classic in your style. I’ve never ever heard you self promote and love how you say “you” can do this/that, instead of “I” and “me me me” Secondly, I found your channel because I am starting my own clay earring business and calling it “oh clay!” My daughter used to try to do the whole Cardi B “okurrrr” thing when she was 5 and would end up saying “oh clate” haha so when I was searching online for logos and such, I came across your business. I’m so glad I did. They say if you want to be good at something, go to someone who’s done it before and has done it well. So, here I am, following every tip and piece of advice! So, thank you so so much. You’ve helped me and inspired me to pursue this. Good luck. You deserve it

I just started making my own clay earrings a couples weeks ago and I really love it. Your videos are so helpful. Please keep them coming! I'm curious as to where you get your hardware and what types you use. Also, do you always mix the clay yourself to make the colors or do you purchase them?
@theslowhaus4 жыл бұрын
Exciting! And thank you for the kind words. I'm excited to have this platform to share what I've learned and help others. All of my hardware comes from various Etsy sellers. I will be doing a video on hardware shopping soon! And I do always hand mix my colors so that they are unique and exclusive to my brand, but that is just my preference. There is absolutely nothing wrong with picking out some great colors at the store and using those to create your jewelry!

These are the BEST tutorials! I can’t wait for more. How do you get the clay out of the cutters? When mine get stuck in there I have to use tools or my fingers to get them out and they ruin my piece sometimes. What’s your best advice? Thanks!!!
@theslowhaus4 жыл бұрын
AWW Thank you!!! I'm new to making and editing videos, so I really appreciate that! I think I might have to do a video on this topic to completely answer your question. There are lots of ways you can do it. Using your fingers is common and something I definitely do. A couple Ideas for you to try: using a firmer clay if it gets stuck often (try sculpey souffle) and also try dipping your cutter in cornstarch so that it will be less sticky. It's hard to explain all of the options on here, but I will try and get a video up soon on this topic!

How do you keep the snakes from coming apart? I made some with a similar snake size as the one you used, as well as a bunch of tiny ones, and a few popped apart pretty easily. I used Premo without any softener or liquid clay or anything... It's hard trying to mush the snakes together without leaving fingerprints or denting it, not sure if I just need to spend more time squishing it together?
@Xeyxey03 жыл бұрын
I found it in the Q&A video! I have to use liquid clay since it's too warm to just press it without smashing the pieces.

Hello so I plan on making a pair of polymer clay earrings for my best friend but was wondering if these are good for sensitive ears
@theslowhaus4 жыл бұрын
It is a GREAT gift for someone with sensitive ears! Polymer clay is super lightweight so it's very easy on the ears. Even big statement earrings made out of polymer clay feel feather-light when worn. Just make sure you know what her sensitivities are to metals. Using earring hardware that is lead and nickel free are a safe bet. Brass and silver can cause irritation. Surgical steel and gold are also a very safe option.

Hello beautiful! Thank you for sharing your content with us. I had a question, how do you get your shapes (that you cut with the cookie cutter shapes) to be so round and even? I struggle a lot with getting them off the cookie cutter shapes. I have to push them off with something which ends up ruining the jewelry. Please help! 💜
@theslowhaus4 жыл бұрын
Great question! There are several techniques you can use which I will certainly do a video on soon, but normal I just blow them out of their cutter! 😂 it’s a little strange, but works very well.
