You should talk more about what happen in that final...give us the inside baseball. Both you and your subs would learn a lot from it. Congrats on a good showing at Worlds on the relays.

Congrats. Those world team relays look like the funniest event and you look like you really enjoy being on them. Earnings one of those spots for USA with the 400m talent in this country is amazing!

You are an amazing runner Matt and I've been following your progress for years. I am so glad that you are doing the 400m as you have so much potential at this distance. Looking at your recent races, you seem to go out too hard and build up a load of lactic acid which costs you a lot of time as it slows you down in the last 100m. Study the best 400m runners and see how even their splits are. Femke Bol is a good example. If you can find the perfect pace that allows you to finish strong with less lactic acid, You will win many more races. 😊

I'm an older (much!) 400 runner and truly appreciate your comments on the highs and lows of running this ABSURD race!

I hope you do a lot of 500 m repeats the spring because that’s what’s gonna be needed to handle the trials and ultimately Olympic rounds. You need to do these repeats and concentrate on form on that last 150 m to give you the edge.

Yo great stuff man! I’m in highschool rn running more mid distance events such as the 4x8 and 1000m but I’m trying to get faster and move into shorter distances. Could you go over what you’re training typically looks like on a daily basis and how you avoid injuries on non-meet days?

You gotta focus on your diet! Hook up with a nutritionist to get you on the optimal diet, also a sports psychologist to help with the mental game! You gotta get your mind into a zone where it's separate and doesn't interfere with your running mechanics.
