I worked there and built those tanks for over 30 years. I was there until the very last day. I can actually see some of my work on this one.

I think they picked him because of his personality, he's Italian and seems more like your uncle Andy that comes to family gatherings and tells stories than a rocket scientist nerd. Lol

Funny they used the foam to keep ice from forming on the tank that could cause damage to the thermal protection system but it was the foam itself that caused the very thing it was to prevent with columbia

Jan 13th 2024 they set the last remaining external external tank upright and connected it to the solid rocket boosters in Los Angeles. The shuttle gets rotated verticle and mounted on the tank and SRBs soon.

why is this astronaut asking questions about something he flew on twice ??????????????????????? whats that all about is this a joke oe he doesnt know anything about what was under his legs
@justimagine24036 жыл бұрын
The guy in blue is the astronaut? He is speaking as if he has no idea how this all works? This fuel tank is what blew up and dropped foam onto the wing of Columbia. The weak link in the Shuttle (thought the SRB burned through and hit that tank).
@Synergy7Studios6 жыл бұрын
You're incorrect. The tank didn't explode, a piece of foam just broke off the tank and hit the wing of Columbia. The SRB burned through during the Challenger disaster. When that happened, the flame melted through the tank.
@Synergy7Studios6 жыл бұрын
Mike F I've personally witnessed two shuttle launches. They not fake. And you say astronauts should be less charismatic but think stuttering makes them fake?

@Noremorse11 And apparently it's not enough for Mike Turdboy. In fact if you do a mathematical analysis based on figures from analysis on thousands of conspiracy theorists, you would have to dumb down any given video by infinity, essentially losing any meaningful content in the resulting black screen video from the hundreds of simulations conducted on this topic. Apparently they also discovered that their conspiracy theorist participants all ranked at an equal 100 on the "scent index" when compared to diarrhea. Just a fun little factoid. They're basically pressed turd nodules

liquid hydrogen - black powder - which to use ? speed - is needed - black powder burn might last hundreds of hours with final mass of lowest. - liquid AP - add it up later -
@johndododoe14114 жыл бұрын
Black power provides less power per tonne than the liquid options. However the special mix in the SRBs is better than black powder and stores just as easily.

Shame we could not have retained all those huge tanks in orbit, corralled them, to be used to build a huge ship for a Mars mission. 125+ of those tanks would make one heckuva big ship.

There was an old plan to turn them into extra rooms for the ISS/Freedom. Nice big empty spaces with insulated walls.
