Hello. For the final photo you should setup the printer ( settings-> auto enhance ...) not to auto modify the printed photo. By default it will check the file you send to it and try to "enhance" the image, and also it checks for people faces and modifies them by internal algorithm.

Hi Fenna, Did you try to print it direct from the computer instead of cellphone? I want to buy this printer and offer for kids birthdays parties! What you think?
@FennaPhotography2 жыл бұрын
I haven't tried that yet, but I think the kids will love a print at the end of the party!

Fenna just make sure you print in Adobe RGB, not all printers can do this, this is why the colours are washed out it's probably only doing SRGB :) also darling, to give the best quality you need to make sure the ink and paper is archival quality which is museum quality (lasts 75 years) xx
@FennaPhotography2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip! I did export the image to sRGB, but I also didn't expect professional results for this price :)

Hi Fenna, Do you recommend any classes to Lear how to be a photographer?
@FennaPhotography2 жыл бұрын
Yes definitely. It's great to learn the basics and practice with other photographers. For newborn photography I also recommend more in depth workshops where you learn about safe posing etc.

Hi! do you have any videos where you explain in depth how you use your speedligths please? I am a new photographer and I have trouble using mine, I try to use two speedlights like you do, one on the soft light and other on the back to fill up the rest of the room with light. Sometimes my flashes take a while to recycle and other times they just don't flash. Do you have classes maybe I can sign up. TIA

Beautiful! What did you have your speed light set to for this lighting? I have the same speed lite and struggle with it either being too bright or not bright enough 😩
@FennaPhotography2 жыл бұрын
I usually have it set at 1/32

I totally agree with you about the printer, it is nice and convenient but as a photographer when you care about the colors, it cannot compare to a professionally printed image. My images always looked washed out.

Hi Fenna. I have the same printer. it is not suitable for professional use, since the size is small (10x15) and the margin of error is very large. I use it for passport photos or documentation photos. Take good care of it with dust and suspended particles, because when it gets inside, the photo comes out stained. For larger and more professional photography, I have a DNP Printer, and also a Canon pint 5151. I hope this information is useful to you. regards!

Try printing from your computer. Load a printer profile from canon. Printing off the app on a phone won’t give an amazing result. You can probably get a better result that way.

Try a different paper type that is Matt finish with no gloss. Maybe that would get closer to your pictures. That one looks like a Polaroid picture not professional.
@FennaPhotography2 жыл бұрын
For now I'll just use it for private prints on our fridge, but if I run out of paper I'll see if they have a matt finish

This printer doesn't have more "ink" for darker pictures. It has no ink at all. It is thermal sublimation. So it uses 3 colors of foil for every print + one clear layer. Regardless of the content. You can even print nothing and the foils will be used. I've got an older model of the selphy line. And no: It is not possible to get constantly good colours out of it. Colour calibration isn't possible. It seems to shift from image to image. By the way: When all paper is used and the colour cartridge is "empty" (used), you can pull out the foil and see all you printed pictures as negatives. So if you've got pictures from clients done with that printer and they are not for the public to see: Don't throw the foil in the normal trash. - Everybody could see the photos on the foil. - And even scan all three colours to get a complete negative again. - I don't think this is a problem for your kind of work, but perhaps in other genres this is a problem. (For example product photography with prototypes which are secret.)
