Kartel highjacked dancehall with his selfish, one don (carry feelings) mentality by not allowing producers, artists etc. to work with each other freely within the genre as it were prior to him. When last you heared a nice juggling on a riddim with a diverse set of artists? He then oversaturated the airwaves and ruined it. All when the man release subpar shit, it's THE standard. Who remembrs 'Tap Tanna'? That should have never made it to radio.. or anywhere. In relation to what Kurt said at the end with the white lady wanting dancehall and not hearing it, it's Kartel and other artists/producer's desperation to crossover that had them changing the sound to something that is not ours and unrecognisable and sometimes downright unpalatable. Bring back the sound systems.
