The youths dem noh respect the elder dem that set the trend and open doors. I used to work at the world busiest airport and I encounter so many different race of people and most time when someone talk about Jamaica music it's Bob Marley, Beenie Man or they call him the zim zimmer guy, Shaggy and Sean Paul. I've seen this man poster on tge the sides of public buses and it's not like a album promotion. His ratings is higher abroad than Jamaica but as Swizz Beats said they wanted to leave them on the side of the road but don't sleep on them. Just open the doors and give them back their wings and let them shine the way they can do. Both artist has done great great great for the industry and hasn't gotten to their full potential.

Thank you guys for showing respect and homage by doing a review of this iconic night for Jamaica and dancehall. There are several Jamaican platforms on KZbin and very few of them did a review on this. I guess because the artists they like have problems with Beenie and Bounty. Crabs in a barrel. The reaction to this live stream is what really infuriates me. The uninformed and young Jamaicans see this as a defining moment for Dancehall to be exposed. It's like they are unaware of the history of the music being a crossover genre. People, Dancehall buss long time. It's outreach and impact are overwhelming. Look at Afrobeats and Reggaeton. Those two genres are offshoots of Dancehall music. It's like we as a people are so insecure that we look for any opportunity to seek external validation. SMH

They have captured our imagination and so we rarely create like we used to as nowadays "wi inna everybody business while fi wi own a spoil" Fret not thyself as Jah is reminding them slowly but surely. From Buju touch back JA the energy change. They thought that they had managed to control and corrupt dancehall much like they did to Hip Hop and now they are seeing that this is a very very powerful music spiritually. Give LOVE to the youngsters as they find their way back to reality. In their world its all about what you see on TV. In our days "we run things, things no run we" and we have to find ways to preserve and pass on that culture. Bless

My biggest problem is that not much young artist did show dem respect to the greatness only Popcaan and gage me did see. Yes konshens did deh deh but him done established. It was a great display for the people dem how impact dancehall is on the world. But it also show we say a the 90s and early 2000s dancehall really dominate. We need back the clash culture in dancehall now a days nuh ready! No offence to who a do dem ting but we a lose we culture! We need back the culture on sound clash and stage presence. Keep in mind that the person may have been thinking about artist in poppi Dem genre probably alkaline and di younger group. I hope in the future Swizz Beatz & Timbaland change the format on Verzuz with regards to an artist's hits. Cultural hits and billboard/charting hits are not the same thing. What the mainstream likes and what niggas go up for in the clubs/dance/bbqs/backyard parties/basement jams are two different things. Otherwise, Beenie & Bounty represented well. You do not survive decades in the dancehall especially after decades of clashes, and not be iconic and show respect for your contemporaries. As for who win, the audience, culture and Jamaica won. In the clash, Beenie gets it for his catalog, and versatility including the moods of his songs. Killer has matured tremendously and he gets major props for that.
