I remember the History Teaser and at that time I didn't understand it, I was 7 years old. But Scream I remember well and this video was huge huge and we still have a lot of music videos inspired by it. Michael and Janet joining forces was everything. I don't remember the first allegations (thank God) bit I've never doubted his innocence. I truly believe in him with all my heart.

Thank you mj fan girl and gadget Trish ! I enjoyed this collaboration so much! making of 'scream ' is otherworldly! So greatful to Janet for supporting her brother when he needed her most, yes I watched 'free willy' its a beautiful and very heartwarming movie, my favorite scene is at the end while the beautiful song 'will you be there ' playing at the background, My heart is aching for Michael as always for what he had to endure , shame on all opportunists and media who put him through this ! But he showed them he was unbreakable by creating this incredibly amazing video and subsequent greatest albums 'History ' and ' Invincible ' Even after all these years without him his music and his legacy is shining even brighter and will continue to shine forever. 🙏❤👑🤟👍✌🦋🌻

I am almost afraid to write this because I don't want it to be misconstrued or taken wrong for all of the Janet Jackson fans. This doesn't mean I don't think she is a good artist, but I have always looked at MJ as a total Enigma and the best performer, artist, of all time! TBH, at the time, I always thought that MJ did it for her, and not the other way around. Also, I was a little confused based on this behind the scenes vs. her documentary and what she alluded to in her documentary? In the documentary she seemed to speak as if they weren't together at all, and it seemed what she stated regarding MJ was not relevant, and of course that is my opinion. I thought that she could have defended him more since there is so much evidence pointing to his complete innocence, and also I don't think she should have mentioned anything with a negative slant, knowing how the media jumps on this propaganda and runs with it. I know someone is going to be angry by me stating this because I know that Janet is his sister, and has every right to say what she wants, but again I just didn't think it was clear and positive in my opinion!
@katek.4692
@katek.4692 2 жыл бұрын
1/2 I don't blame you for “being afraid” to express what you did with your thoughts and sentiments, lol. I hate to pre-characterize anyone, but the fact of the matter is that there are, without a doubt, a significant amount of “fans” of both Michael and Janet, not to mention *any* artist, celebrity, or public figure, who immediately and impulsively jump on the defense and not exactly in the most respectful of ways, but rather, in a particularly and unfortunately mean-spirited, aggressive, hostile, irrational, and ignorant manner-I am confident that most of those who apply to this group that I mentioned don't even take the time to attentively, adequately, and comprehensively read, much less listen, to what someone genuinely said before they respond, which is unfortunate to see as much as it does. I think your fear is valid and understandable. As far as what you commented, I haven't watched Janet’s documentary yet, although I have recorded it *[my son and I live with my parents, and we have had quite a bit of interior renovations happening, as far as an entire kitchen remodel and “wood floors,” which are not actual wood floors at all, installed in the first floor of the house, so the only TV that is up is the one in my parent's room and they have been binge-watching their shows, and I haven't had the chance to watch the recording yet, lol],* but I have seen bits or segments of the documentary online, including a portion of the moment that you talked about regarding what Janet stated about the filming of Scream. Now, if I had to make an educated guess on why Janet’s interview portion of this MTV “behind the scenes” is different from the things that she expressed in her documentary, I would say that it is essential to keep in mind that the interview in the MTV “behind the scenes” that we just watched is not going to have anything that isn't purely positive or that do doesn't come across as “hunky-dory,” so to speak, because one needs to remember the type of interview and platform that this showcased on, which is MTV, not to mention that there is the marketing and PR aspects to all of this, and the last thing that Michael, as well as Janet, would have wanted during the time that Michael is “coming back,” if that's what one wants to call it, after all of the bullshit and nonsense that occurred in ‘93 - ‘94, is MTV coming in and Janet expressing her most authentic and genuine emotions and thoughts on what went down during the filming of Scream-in other words, things like this are going to be delivered with “a bow and glitter” on the them, so to speak, because they are selling the song, video, album, etc., ultimately. Do you know what I mean? I wouldn't even put all that much into it because it makes sense when looking at the bigger picture of things. When it comes to the other things that you mentioned and shared regarding your notions of what Janet did or did not say in her documentary, which I don't need to have watched the documentary yet to give some advice, I would encourage people to find a level of understanding towards not only the fact that the documentary was *Janet’s* documentary, and that she is entitled to share her genuine thoughts, feelings, and perspective of what went down on the Scream set, which doesn't seem to reflect anything necessarily about Michael, himself, specifically, but I, furthermore, wholeheartedly believe that people, or Michael’s fans rather, need to understand that it is okay for people, especially those like Michael’s family members and legitimate friends, to keep things 100% authentic when talking about Michael and their experiences with him; not only are there way too many people, including the media and trashloids *[tabloid trash, in case that wasn't already evident, lol],* who treat, handle, and view Michael as if he wasn't a human being who had “never-ending” layers, complexities, good days, bad days, made mistakes, did amazing things, and so on, but there also is this noticeable issue amongst a lot of Michael’s fans when it comes to refusing to accept that humanality to Michael themselves, and consider anything or anyone who says something that is even slightly “negative” about Michael or something regarding him, or even things about Michael that are entirely “normal” *[I hate that word because there, in most cases in the world, is no such thing]* or common amongst millions of people, as being some “inexusable,” “dispicable,” “unforgiveable,” or even some “impossible” thing that couldn't possibly be related to Michael, which inherently and inadvertently causes those fans, as well, to view Michael through an unrealistic, irrational, unreasonable, and essentially, a dehumanizing lens and perspective. Michael wasn't perfect, just like the rest of us in this world, and that's okay, lol. At the end of the day, the media is going to do whatever the hell they want when it comes to Michael, and the best thing that anyone can do to eradicate their bullshit is to defend Michael when it is *necessary,* which means not getting defensive or making a big deal out of the things that get said that are not some “God awful” thing, especially when those things have validity to them because all that's doing is putting value behind the media’s negative spin on those entirely “normal,” understandable, common, and completely human experiences, characteristics, events, etc. For example, there are *a lot* of fans of Michael’s who are unwilling/refuse, unnecessarily resistant towards, or incapable at this time, for whatever reason, to acknowledge the considerably significant possibility/likelihood that Michael struggled with the disease of addiction and was, therefore, most likely an addict.
@katek.4692
@katek.4692 2 жыл бұрын
2/2 The number of times that I have come across fans going ballistic on anybody and everybody who, and in any way, suggests, implies, or even directly asserts even remotely that Michael was an addict who unfortunately struggled with the disease of addiction throughout periods of his life, not to mention that the responses that these specific fans give make it seem like it some “sin,” “ultimate insult,” or something that somehow devalues, diminishes, or takes away from the incredible human being, as well as artist, that Michael was, represents, and stands for is not only astonishing but equally as disheartening to witness, especially when you're someone who is a recovering addict, yourself, who naturally and effortlessly identifies with Michael in so many ways. You've got people, and I don't condemn them for this, nor do I think that they maliciously or intentionally say these things *[I believe that it is an ill-informed, ill-advised, and lacking education and the appropriate information on the matter that causes this most of the time],* who not only attempt to rationalize the well-known struggles with substances that Michael had by saying things like, “it’s not like he’s an actual junkie,” which is something that no one should be saying about anyone, for that matter, “he’s not a real addict,” “he only developed a dependency on the legally prescribed pain medication that he received for the burn that he endured,” “he was only using prescribed medications, so it's not like he was doing heroin or something terrible like that,” and so many other examples that are innately similar, which are all ill-conceived thoughts and notions from the start, but people who, furthermore, will describe Michael as having “a dependency on his pain medication that he got when he suffered the burn to his scalp during the Pepsi commercial,” in a way that strongly suggests that Michael being solely dependent on his pain medication is some “fact of the matter.”. Now, it's not my place to diagnose Michael with anything, not to mention that I don't particularly enjoy or like speculating on such things. There are a multitude of reasons, however, for why I wish that more people/fans would have the willingness and open-mindedness to the incredible likelihood that Michael most likely did not have “just drug dependency issues” and most likely did not have drug abuse disorder either, but rather, that Michael most likely did battle the disease of addiction and was an addict, especially since there not only is a considerable amount of “tell-tale signs,” so to speak, that someone like myself who has fought her disease of addiction, on and off, and more time on than anything, for over 10 years *[I have over five years now since I got my life together this last time, and considering I could never seem to make to the six months mark out of the dozens upon dozens upon dozens of times that I tried to get clean and stay clean, genuinely and wholeheartedly, I think I'm doing mighty fine this time around, lol]* can see, identify, and strongly relate to, especially since the amount of experience, knowledge, understanding, and awareness that I have regarding anything related to drug dependency, drug abuse disorder, and the disease of addiction is, well, astronomical at this point, but there, furthermore, have been licensed and qualified professionals in Michael’s life, and not just those who prescribed him medications, but people who were Michael’s friends and refused to do so, who explicitly stated during either Conrad fuck-face’s trial, excuse my “French,” or the civil trial against AEG *[I can't remember off hand]* that Michael was an addict who had the disease of addiction that ultimately developed from his usage of the prescription pain medication that he took after the burn to his scalp. Michael being an addict and suffering from the disease of addiction is not something “awful,” “terrible,” “absurd,” “insulting,” or whatever else that particular fans consider it to be, but rather, it just shows in another way that Michael was just as much as a human being as any other person on this planet. The reason that I mention this example is that whenever the media and trashloids have attempted to demonize or portray Michael in a negative light regarding this specific subject matter, instead of Michael’s fans *[not all]* lashing out at the media and trashloids for using a very much real and legitimate disease that has been, and since 1987, listed, established, recognized, and categorized as a disease by the AMA and vast majority of medical associations and organizations around the world as some, not to mention something that affects millions of different people worldwide every single day, as some sort of gross ammunition or way of disparaging Michael, people/fans will get upset because the media even associated addiction to Michael and will react in a way that, without a doubt, makes it seem like they consider the disease of addiction and those who suffer from it to be “a bad thing,” “a terrible quality,” etc., etc., which again, only ends up inadvertently placing value behind the way that the media uses a legitimate disease to devalue someone, which is gross and makes me question what these specific type of fans would think of Michael if he were to come right out while he was alive and say “I am an addict,” which he somewhat did but only not in those words. Janet shouldn't refrain from saying things that are truthful but also ever-so-slightly “negative,” which I wouldn't even describe anything that Janet has said about Michael that way, just because of some chance that the media might take it, spin in, and run with it because that's just giving the media the power that they don't deserve, much less need nowadays, which is the same issue that I just described regarding Michael, addiction, the media, and how many of his fans handle and interpret that.

I think from '87-2001 janet was by far one of the biggest acts in the music business. Domestically she was more successful than Michael during that time. Janet RN and Janet album both sold around 8 million copies in the USA, MJ Dangerous sold 8 million in the USA what separated Michael from the pack was his international sales if I am not mistaken Mike didn't do much touring in the USA after the Bad tour. So when they bring up Scream Janet I think still holds the record for most consecutive top 10s and 27 I believe. And around this time it wasn't comparable she was out charting damn near everybody outside of Mariah Carey in regards to singles. So '95 around Scream Janet domestically was just as big if not bigger than Michael in the states at the time. That is why she had the biggest contract at the time because they were projecting sales and success for that decade and beyond. Where Janet lacked throughout her career even though her tours were highly successful abroad around the time of the Janet tour. She was still being overly seen by European markets as being Michael Jackson little sister or a black Madonna knock off. If you see her interviews in Europe she was getting compared heavily to Madonna which she took great offense to. So when she brings up the Coca Cola deal she isn't trying to put a negative light on Michael perse but that 30 million deal would of gave her massive exposure to foreign audiences. And would of heightened her sales and gave her bigger promotional venues etc. So I I see why she added that because it was unfortunate why that happened because she was literally guilty by association. Michael messed up a bag. But it is what it is. Janet is still one of the most influential artist in Asia/ K pop/ Japan her and her brother and Madonnna are like the holy trinity in those regions. Janet also never toured in Latin America which I never understood to this day she performed in some shows but never toured. So to sum it up the superbowl impacted her legacy and MJ indirectly messed up one of her bigger bags in the 90's. So her exposure is relatively limited in comparison to other greats, despite it being very broad in itself. But I loved the documentary and loved your takes keep up the great work.
