You thought of everything. Also crammed a lot of stuff in a little space, yet it is not overcrowded. Great job. I am starting a 41" x 72" N scale layout and watch these videos to get an idea of what I can fit. I plan on doing 2 levels. Hopefully it looks half as good as yours. Thanks for posting a video of this. It is very helpful to me and I enjoyed watching it.

I am just starting with a Kato n scale starter set and like the idea of table top as we live in a condo with limited space. Do you have a full or partial list of components & pricing you used including the table? Thanks

The table is 56 3/4 in long, 29 1/4 in wide and 18 1/4 in high. The depth of the well where the trains run is about 4 in.

Very nice layout with brilliant design and storage functionality, how did you light the caboose?

Thanks. Wipers brush against the axils for electrical pick-up to feed a rectifier which maintains proper electrical polarity across the LED’s regardless of track polarity. To minimize flickering, a1000 microfarad capacitor is connected across the rectifier output and releases electricity to the LED’s when continuity to the rails is temporarily lost.

How easy is it to build something like this? I've always wanted to do a project like this but don't have the tools or the space as of yet. It's like a fever dream for the future.

This was my 4th N scale railroad and my 3rd furniture building project. Glass top display coffee tables are commercially available, but they are expensive $ and often not the right size. But don't give up the dream. If it is too easy, it isn't rewarding.
