I was 22 and was tired of 5-11 seasons and was super happy when we started actually winning with Brady. We 100% don't win the 2001 Superbowl if Brady isn't the QB. In fact we don't even make the playoffs. Its another 5-11 season, Bill gets fired. Drew stays the QB because of his contract and we don't get to see Brady start until like 2003. So many things would have been messed up if Brady doesn't start when he did.

When Belichick was head coach at Cleveland he had lots of problems with QB Bernie Kosar, Kosar was popular with the fans, and ignored Belichick because he could get away with it. Several times he didn't execute the plays Belichick called. Kosar also had direct contact with the owner. It undermined Belichick's approach of controlling the team, I think that's a major reason why Belichick went with Brady, he didn't want a seasoned veteran QB who was bigger than him. Plus it left more money for other players since Brady was on a rookie contract.
@nicholasvandal69488 ай бұрын
@@ppumpkin3282 or it’s because Kosar sucked and was holding them back from rebuilding properly. That much was evident in the Cleveland 95 documentary. During the Brady 6, bill mentioned 3 reasons we didn’t go to Tommy in 01 right away: 1) Drew’s new contract…if we bench our 100 million QB for a 6th rounder, the NFLPA would investigate how their player got screwed and not by injury. It would’ve also been catastrophic for the team chemistry as well as future contracts for players if we simply elected to go with a 6th rounder. 2) Tommy’s inexperience 3) Belichick’s coaching career. Had he gone to Mr Kraft and said I’m going with Tommy over Drew staffing the 2001 season, he probably would have been canned.

It’s also refreshing to hear they had more input on the material than I expected. I would’ve thought it was 90% written by comedians, both the ones on stage and outside of the roast. And some of it was, since Julian mentioned Sam Morrill helping and on the Rich Eisen show, Brockman said his wife wrote some material for it. But still, it sounds like quite a bit more of the jokes were written by each person than I expected. And like Drew, I enjoyed Nikki’s set most. I was cracking up the whole time.

Drew was the main reason we fell in love with the Pats, they were number 4 on the Boston sports list, when Drew came to N.E...he was the main reason the Pats became what they were..!! He will ALWAYS be held in the same regards as Tom for the most part as far as the beginning of the dynasty. Thank you Drew for those great years as our QB..!!

12:32 Kardashian was there most likely because her PR team wanted to capitalize on the rumors of her & Tom. Can’t stand her but she actually did pretty well and arguably Tom’s best joke was directed at her during his segment 😂

I love that Drew is from WA state. Talking about things I am familiar with. Great laid back interview. The Roost for Brady was classic comedy at its finest! Booing KK was definitely a highlight they shouldn't of cut!! Pete is Amazing!!❤

They start mentioning "Willie" at about 57:36. What happened to New England Patriots hero, Willie McGinist, that I don't know about?

Willie Mac in big trouble. Beat the shit out of some dude in a restaurant. Smashed a bottle over the guys head. Lost his NFL network job in big legal drama.

@@jakeholloway8071 Oh, lately? I smahed a bottle over a guys head, he was O.K. but I got torn up hand, because of the glass imbeded. It was a half full 16 oz. Pabst Blue Ribbon bottle. Back in the day, the bar manager sold them to me wholesale, $4.70/case. We were the adults of "Hassle Castle." Good times Sugarloaf ME. USA.
