Lol. These kind of documentaries about this topic have been done by the hundreds already by western and other media. Some of the reporters actually joined the migrants on the road walking. Wei Du and her people didn’t do much and didn’t do anything dangerous. Average documentary by people who live in a bubble and don’t know much about the outer world. They’re late to the party. It’s been done already and done much better

I am one of only 1000s of Americans who have witness first hand the conditions at the border for asylumseekers as a volunteer for a human rights legal organization in Tijuana. I watched this film with a heavy heart, recognizing the humanity and kindness of the individuals portrayed. Their stories of struggle and survival resonate deeply, and it's impossible not to sympathize with their plight. I truly believe that the United States has always been, and should continue to be, a beacon of hope for those seeking a better life. However, it's also difficult to ignore the reality that millions of people are waiting in line, sometimes for years, to enter this country legally. These individuals follow the established process, respecting the laws and showing patience and perseverance in their pursuit of the American dream. It feels unfair to those who are adhering to the legal pathway when others, who enter illegally, are allowed to bypass those procedures and potentially receive benefits. My concerns aren't driven by a lack of empathy but rather a belief in fairness and the rule of law. As American citizens, we have an obligation to ensure our nation's resources are used responsibly, especially considering the burden placed on taxpayers. I don’t believe it’s fair to expect ordinary citizens to bear the responsibility for decisions that have created a chaotic situation. The current state of affairs, especially under the Biden Administration, has created chaos and left our country in a total mess. It is a shameful chapter in our history. The lack of effective immigration control and enforcement has resulted in a situation that feels not only unsustainable but also unfair to those who strive to enter legally. As Americans, we should be welcoming, but it must be done in a way that respects our laws and preserves the integrity of our nation. I truly wish there was a way to help those in need without undermining the legal system that so many have faithfully respected. America should remain a land of opportunity, but it must also be a country where laws are respected, and those who follow the rules are not left behind. This isn't about turning our backs on those who are suffering; it's about finding a solution that honors the values of compassion, fairness, and the rule of law. For the sake of everyone involved, we need to address this situation thoughtfully and responsibly. Lastly, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to the CNA crew for risking their lives to bring this story to light. Your hard work and dedication to uncovering the truth are truly admirable, and I have the utmost respect for your efforts.

What really stood out in was not so much how they managed to capture the journey of the people but how Du Wei felt personally connected to them, esp the scene where she called the police on behalf of the family with the kid when they were lost.. We may all have been been curious initially as to why the Chinese would make such a journey & started watching the documentary but halfway through, we felt pulled in and just wished for all of them to make it safely to US even though they are entering illegally. The illegal immigration through the Durien Gap is not a new topic but yet this documentary has certainly given a fresh perspective to it due to the profiles.
