Nope! The only objects that affect theremins are electronic, like computers or piano keyboards.

It does, Carolina said in an interview that everything surrounding the theremin influences the tone, no matter if it's other instuments, people, or any kind of objects. That's why, in an orchestra, she needs "her own space" because as soon as anything passed by near her, it would alter the current settings where the exact notes are between her body and the antenna of the theremin (and she'd have to adjust them mid-song, which is impossible, of course). So for the making of this video I'd assume it's simply full playback.😊 In other words: In theory it is possible to prep the studio with all the props including the cotton, then calibrate the theremin, and then play it. But given the fact that there is a cameraperson near her and moving, it seems rather unlikely that she plays live in the video.

I was wondering when you play the theremin you have the 8 positions for an octave right? So what do you do when you want to play only a halftone up or down?
