That 3 second flashback D.Va had should’ve been a bigger part of the animated short, it could’ve shown her and her whole MEKA squad and where they came from and how they got to where they are now, there was hardly any story in this other than “Look what D.Va can do.”

I agree that show casing Meka squad in a epic omnic battle would been better. Atleast also provide more insight Korea battling the omnic. The animation on this one nice and all but plot wise was wayyy to safe. Its just insert OW hero, little backstory, baddies appear, OW hero kill baddies , victory.

Yeah that should have been the entire theme about the short, Dva getting over her trauma despite being pressured by her public image. The reactions could be way more natural. Her in game self doesn't even appear in the short, and it would have been interesting to see how her squadmates and Dva feel about that facade. Maybe like us, she's slightly annoyed by it, and she could have been genuinely shown to be scared and frustrated that she might not be able to keep up with all those battle scars. It's more of the lack of real loss and character flaws. I'm even more frustrated because if that was the story the mechanic wouldn't show up and there wouldn't be hero speculations and friendzone comments everywhere.

Nobody will read this probably, but personally that flashback was a critical piece of the short. There were three distinct voices, the first saying something in Korean, probably about what they're doing. The second voice, a male, in a somewhat muffled tone says "They're killing me!", immediately evoking shock from Dva. The third voice ends the flashback with a very clear and desperate "I'm hit!", finishing it off to accentuate how Dva at that point realize how critical the fights were. This isn't a video game. It was a life or death situation where the consequences of failure were not only the loss of life within the Meka squad, but very likely the rest of the city of Busan. That's why she took it heavily upon herself to keep working hard on repairs, to immediately jump into the fire. Because failure for the sake of the city was not an option. Probably redundant. Probably obvious. But that small snippet always brings me to the verge of tears.

Hey Overwatch team, I don’t know if you’ll read this but I wanted to make a suggestion for the next animated short. My idea is to make the focus of the next short on the various members of Overwatch coming together to reform and rebel against Talon. The plot would go along roughly like this: The short begins and we get caught up with Soldier 76. He is attempting to infiltrate a talon base but is shocked when he finds the base empty. He quickly realised it’s a trap and try’s to run away, he is then caught by talon and taken to an isolated room. Shortly after Reaper comes in to taunt him and the two share dialogue concerning their respective pasts and how/why Reaper went down the path he did. After this Winston and Tracer would trigger the alarm which would distract Reaper long enough for Soldier to escape. Soldier would then try to run away until he is confronted by a talon squad. Thinking he has no other option he begins fighting them but soon realises there are too many of them. Winston and Tracer would then appear and start taking down the talon operatives. You could then have some quick exchanges between the three catching them up on eachother and revealing soldiers identity. You could also include Ana, Angela or mccree at the end but this is just a suggestion. Please take this into consideration and thanks for reading! :)

I enjoined this. It was great to see my main showing a different side that I've heard in the game where she saw all the damage done. You can hear her have worry in her voice. To see it in action to show a protective side but, with the weight of the world on her shoulders like that it does clear that up a bit more and makes her more relatable. Now it's time for a Lucio and Symmetra cinematic. The both of them are connected and you can both. It would take a long time but, I'd say it'll be worth it if you ask me.
