I had the pleasure of meeting George Romero at a horror con. I gushed like a child and told him I’ve been a huge fan since Dawn of the Dead...What a gracious man he was. It really was an end of an era when he passed away. RIP George.
@stephenryder87805 жыл бұрын
beezle1210 Agreed. He was a legend. I read his script for his version of resident evil and his original day of the dead script. Both would have been epic . But day of the dead was still awesome.
@nameredacted11764 жыл бұрын
I met him at horror con too! His exact words were "say man, thanks for the praise! Want a cup of coffee? " Hell yeah I want your coffee George. His styrofoam cup sits on a mantle inside of my "theatre room" which is basically a second bedroom with the walls filled with horror memorabilia and posters and action figures. Because even though my physical shell is 36, I'm still 12. At least that's what my wife says lol 😂. Be well everyone!

Matt Bradley Yeah you can find it online in its entirety. It would’ve been a great horror movie but a poor Resident Evil movie if that makes sense.

I’m sorry for your loss brother. I love this movie as well. My father introduced it to me when I was 4 I was born in 1990 so your comment really hit different for me hearing about your son passing since I feel my father will have to bury me also. May I ask how he passed ?

My favorite zombie movie of all time. The practical effects by Savini are phenomenal
@CALAdmin882 жыл бұрын
This movie is peak Savini. It's ridiculous how much of an improvement it was over Dawn with convincing blood, more convincing rotten zombies, and animatronic work. Him, Dick Smith, and Rob Bottin are all 70s and 80s legends.
@thisyoutubehandleisdumbasfuck Жыл бұрын
@@CALAdmin88 Even Savini himself admitted that the look of the zombies in Dawn were horrible. He said adding grey makeup to the actors' skins made them look blue or sometimes even green in certain scenes. Watching the movie again made me realise how right he was.

There will NEVER be the same magic George made with his writing, ideas, ability to accept others ideas, direction and class. Watching Dawn as an 11 yr old in 1984, I was forever changed and hooked on horror, especially zombies. RIP George, Joe Pilato, and Ralph Marrero.

I disagree. I think Night of the Living Dead is the best. It’s the one that started my fear of zombies and kept me a fan since I watched it in the 70s. George and Tom are two legends. The first three are very good tho, but I’m a fan of all because I’m a fan of George. RIP😢

Yeah but imo I feel night being the fav of the genre is a bit generic, no offense. Day is actually a masterpiece.

The bullet headshot set up for the zombie actors was just incredible. A metal plate to protect the actor's head! Those exit blood gushes are amazingly real looking. Great job Tom and crew!

@@robertlaube574 you're 100% correct. Even though CGI looks great, you can still tell every time that it's not real and it kills the immersion.

why was he a villain to you? he was a commander who found out his team protecting scientists were dying and being butchered and chopped up and fed to zombies.
@frankvizen54802 ай бұрын
@thenycestmc he sexual harasses the protagonist of the film, threatens to kill her, bullies everyone including his men, murders a scientist who wasn't "butchering" already dead specimens, murders another scientist impulsively, and uses physical violence to beat some sense into the helicopter pilots "jungle bunny" head. He's the villain
@thenycestmcАй бұрын
@frankvizen5480 it's not excusable but she's the lone female in a base full of men. those comments are sadly going to come. he wasn't bullying his men. he was commanding them. thats military hierchy. the racist comments were wrong of course but that was 80s shit from the 60s. and pay attention to all the men he mentioned died helping the scientists. he didn't murder an innocent one that scientist was part of the collective who got caught red handed butchering dead soldiers.

He took me to see "Dawn of the dead" at lorch hall around Halloween 🎃 time. Perfect time for u of m film school to put on a movie 🎬 like this in 1982 or 1983 ish. Plus a " best zombie contest!" 🧟♂️ the person who won was a special effects guy and he came down the isle in the theater 🎥 and ripped his chest open as a zombie 🧟♀️ leaving his end trails everywhere 😅😅😅 he won$500!! Very cool, and if u came dressed Asa zombie 🧟♀️ 😀 you got half off admission! So I was hooked after, had to see ALLLLL of Mr. Romero's dead movies after. Including this!! Thanks for showing this, brought back a lot of wonderful memories!! 🎬🎥🧟♂️🧟♀️🙏🌹

The first minute of the video I'm thinking, man I miss 80's girls. Anyway, I guess most people know this if they are watching, 12:31 is a young Greg Nicotero, (walking dead fx among others). Bub the zombie was on an episode of Seinfeld as Elaine's boyfriend that had surgery (the junior mint episode). Day of the Dead man, a classic.
