When it comes to Ethicality sure, Lab Grown Diamonds consume energy to produce them, but that is insignificant when comparing to the energy required to mine just 1 diamond half way over the world and then transporting them to India. Imagine the resources used to dig up 200 tonnes of land and usage of 3000L of water for something that weighs just 0.200 g

Also mined diamond is blood diamond. Many come from conflict prone areas. Certification and process chain can be broken, not full proof. At least lab grown are 1/10th price , so very profitable

What about Moissanite? It's almost as hard as a diamond (acc to the Mohr's scale), sparkles more and is way less expensive! Pls do a segment on this

1. Most Diamonds are NOT INVESTMENTS 2. Indians in particular are value conscious. WHY would I buy a diamond at 10X the price ? 3. The guy is biased.
@rupkatharoy253114 күн бұрын
1. If you buy from a trusted jeweller, they are ALL INVESTMENTS. I myself am a jeweller. 2. If you buy from a trusted jeweller, and pay 10x for a natural diamond, you’ll get the exact 10x return, anytime. Again, I do this with my customers regularly. 3. I agree, the guy is biased.

I have been a customer of Tanishq ever since their beginning both gold n diamond jewellery. In the business of affordability, they use lower quality G, H, I n lower diamonds nowadays. The shine turns lacklustre over years , I ve stopped buying diamonds from them n buy from another reputed jeweller. As far as gold their quality is amazing , but again they charge more than the market rate per gm which is simply not right With such higher prices currently this gets very steep, so last week purchased gold from TBZ which sells on market rate n has equally gud quality. But I hv noticed that south Tanishq stores still keeps VVS E n F quality diamond jewellery not in Mumbai .

So, lower colour grade diamonds from Tanishq lose their shine with time but high colour grade diamonds remain the same?

My experience has been like that Sir Higher quality diamonds even on daily use sparkles forever and not only wearing diamonds with inclusions n abrasions not gud for health n prosperity advises my older generation .

Faye, you were one of those journalist, who came to interview prepared. But this is such a let down. Hope, your youtube is not up for sale. And I believe your pov does not come with the price tag. Please do read about kimberley process failure. How can such a big thing be so casually done, with no research. Hope this podcast is to keep the ship aflot. And a small glitch in your content. Will always come back to your content, when done from the heart.

Wait so I have a question. Is it true that in time lab grown diamonds will decrease in value ? So if I buy some now, I’d only incur a loss when I try to sell it in the future ?
@P4nDA_pls15 күн бұрын
Diamond is not a rare gem. It's just carbon. The price is pumped up just by market manipulation. Diamond is not a good investment ever.
@NishaantJain15 күн бұрын
Historically (last 3 years) speaking yes... Lab Grown Diamonds have decreased in value by about 50%. But at this stage they have seemed to reach close to their threshold as the supply is now matched with the demand. But if you compare selling back Lab Grown Diamonds to Natural diamond, you will still end up making money even if you do not sell the lab diamond. Here is a simple mathematical example: Price of x Natural Diamond = 100rs Price of x Lab Diamond = 9rs Resale value of x Natural Diamond = 90rs Loss incurred in selling x Natural Diamond = 10 rs Loss incurred in selling x natural - Cost of buying x lab diamond = 1rs So even if you do not sell your lab diamonds back (Which you can do at roughly 80% value) you still end up saving money over Natural diamond. This is also not even considering the fact that you are not spending 91rs of your capital which you can invest elsewhere.

This video was disappointing. Me being a jeweller myself, this guy was just busy marketing Tanishq, instead of answering Faye’s questions to the point. Getting someone from a particular brand was a bad idea Faye, get hold of a diamond specialist not representing any brand next time.

Such a biased narrative to justify Tanishq’s exorbitant prices and 35%+ making charges. Lab diamonds are real diamonds and it’s a no brainer for anyone to switch to lab at a fraction of the cost
