You can't seem to look away from watching these two guys talk about "The Promise". Clive Farrington and Andrew Mann of "When In Rome" sat down in our Behind The Vinyl studios to tell the story about the song was made.

Fall 1988 I was in the hospital for a month for a bone infection. This song was everywhere...I was 14 and starting my freshman year in HS. This song brings me back to that time

I like these behind the scene discussions with the actual artists. Great for preservation of music history.

My all-time favorite 80s song! Growing up in that decade was awesome! If you haven’t checked out their album, do so now! It’s a fantastic collection of songs!

I listened to a lot of music in the 80s, especially on MTV, but I've never heard of this band or this song. Just watched the video too, and I've never seen it.

The closing song in the movie Napoleon Dynamite... I remember this song from when I was like 10 years old. I still love the music of the 1980's.

I'd still love to know who the model/actress was that appeared in the video was all these years later. Can't find information at all about who she was.

Great pop song. Imagine how much better it would have been with real drums with feeling instead of programmed soulless percussion.
